axial float in multistage centrifugal pump

Dear All, I want to know that during assembly of multistage centrifugal pump if we get axial float less than required in the manual. What is the solution. In our KSB make 9 stage centrifugal pump minimum float is 6mm to be maintained at every stage as per manual. But if we get float less than...

welding of carbon steel to low alloy steels

Dear Weldstan and Dhurjati sir, 7018-B2 also has same chemical compostion as 8018-B2 only difference is tensile strenght of welding rod. While 70 ksi is tensile strenght of 7018 and 80 ksi is of 8018. Then how tensile strength different for same chemical compostion. Please enlighten me Regards...

welding of carbon steel to low alloy steels

Dear all Thanks for your precious information. I will be grateful for that. I have one more doubt that why we use 8018 for p11 and likewise 9018 for p22 because 80 and 90 in code is tensile strength and not base material composition also tensile strength of p11 and p22 material s 60 psi...

welding of carbon steel to low alloy steels

@weldstan and mk3223 Sir, if we use 7018 for welding carbon steel to p11 and p22, then tensile strengh of carbon steel and p11,p22 are different. Will it not affect welding joint quality. Is there any code which tells which filler wire for dissimilar metals and WPS of welding Regards A.Pradeep

heat loss through insulated pipe line

Dear georgeverghese FTs are DP type with flow orifice and we checked they are working fine. I did not understand the point (cooling of steam due to expansion from the initial pressure to the pressure at the end of the pipe that may be considered as an intermediate expansion between the...

heat loss through insulated pipe line

Dear Pierre Normal flow rate is 40 tones/hr now during rains it flow rate increased to 55 tones per hour. It is absolute pressure. Yes sir steam is superheated to 280 degree Celsius. Insulation and cladding is ok. We renew insulations based on thermography report. Steam line layed about 10...

comparison of cs schedule 80 pipe with stainless steel pipe

Dear EDstainless If mentioned cs pipe is schedule 40, then what will be your reply. The real intent of this question is for same pressure and temperature conditions of fluid inside pipe,Whether SS pipe is of same schedule to be used or lesser schedule.if so then why? Regards Pradeep
