I have a feeling that we're going to start seeing more of these intricate ceilings in the coming days. Thank you for your reply. I always trust that I'll receive valuable insights on this forum from seasoned individuals.
Thanks for your reply! Every day feels like the Architect is making our lives harder, as if they don't consider how we'll fit our sprinklers in there! To be honest, I'm a bit confused between the 3x role and I-beam role, where each one applies uniquely. Now that you've mentioned it, I'll...
Hey there! I didn't actually consider the EC Pendant before, even though I'm familiar with the obstructions and ceiling pocket requirements in NFPA 13. It can be tricky to know when and where to use it. I'll reach out to them to find out if using the EC Pendant will help resolve this issue...
Hey there 😊
Just had to share this with you, I supposed to see a nice flat ceiling as per the drawings, but Once I visited the shop, I found such a compacted one
Told them straight up, They either get rid of these ceiling sheets or bring in sidewall sprinklers around the whole perimeter.
Thanks,
Hi Everyone,
I've a question regarding the obstruction to sprinklers, please check below photo.
I have a retail shop with celling features that obstructing the sprinklers discharge, I aske to remove this annoying things but they said no way!
this can be a ceiling pocket per NFPA 13 - 10.2.9...
my apologies if I was late in reply when you guys helping, I was sick actually today only I saw the replies and I'm thankful to all of you. it's as you said the capacity is being limited. we're just providing water for 30mintes duration in order to satisfy the sprinklers system and standpipe. if...
Thanks Travis for the useful thread,
actually this scenario is difficult in our area, due to lack of water in the city main,
calculation of Fire flow also is authorized by infrastructure authority not in the local code. this is the issue.
but we came to the same idea as you mentioned...
Thanks for the useful replay.
so I suppose this is some sort of government complex in the desert? exactly as you said and we have pretty straight forward setup. no public water main (no water source). typically we are creating the water supply suited with the hydraulic calculation. Suction...
Really appreciate it, I was waiting for your response and Mr. Travsmack. I knew it if you two replies, it will be useful. and sure with respect to all opinions that will help me.
I used to deal with single project or building and applying NFPA standards only as you mentioned. nothing to deal...
Thanks Mr. Tom for your respond, this project in Middle east and we don't have public water supply dedicated for fire, only some new residential cites having fire flow as per the IFC Table from the infrastructure authority. which has nothing to do with me as a fire water based-system designer...
Hi Experts,
Thanks to everyone who's helping and answering in this forum, huge knowledge and experience in these posts.
I've a question regarding a clusters of 71 buildings, belong to government and under same client.

Today was my CWBSP exam, I've passed [wink]
most of the questions from chapter 11 to 19 (2016 edition)
Acutely as you told exactly!! the exam wasn't difficult, my weak point was in the design part , I got confused with some tricky questions about obstructions
maybe I was lucky all the...

Thanks for your discussion, it's useful
before I understood I should run more than more calculation to know the most demanding area if I have multiple hazard in the same building
but for the same hazard like LH and typical floors ..it's not clear the most remote area will be the most...
yeah the building is 22 stories and all our construction materials in concrete,
most of the building ceiling is horizontal or smooth with no combustible concealed spaces
for the warehouses it's 90% noncombustible obstructed only
the system type is 100% wet only, after all there is no that much...
SprinklerDesigner2!! Thanks for your replay ^^
and that was a very important point thu about floor control valve,
I always consider the whole building having one sprinkler system, but is there any different if one system or multiple systems since all inside the building and it will be fed by one...
Thanks alot Eng. TravisMack for your answer,
I've 4 years experience in sprinklers system, most of it in wet systems only, here in Dubai, no need for dry or antifreeze systems, that why I'm kinda worried from these systems applicable only in cold areas,
But I know where to find answers and...
