Electroless nickel coating of confined spaces

Hi, I am conducting some experiments with the electroless nickel (EN) coating of the free machining brass (high lead contain material, which is not good for coating but I must use this material). After surface cleaning and etching procedure, once the brass is submerged in the EN coating...

Electroless nickel plating - surface preparation

@btrueblood Unfortunately, I do not have the equipment for the electrocleaning. My work is the research in various disciplines and I can devote limited amount of time for this coating resaearch. The industrial procedures for the brass surface cleaning prior to Ni-P coating are complex. I have...

Electroless nickel plating - surface preparation

@IRstuff Just to be clear here, by coating quality I mean coating adhesion, wear resistance, etc. But quality is irrelevant here. What I was hoping is that perhaps someone got the Ni-P process kicked off (for the brass) without the electrocleaning step (even with poor coating quality) what...

Electroless nickel plating - surface preparation

@IRstuff Thank you for your question. As I mentioned earlier, as long as the process can be kicked off (with simplified cleaning) and I can try certain solutions, it will be ok. Electro cleaning requires extra equipment etc. etc.

Electroless nickel plating - surface preparation

Hi, I am conducting the experiments with the electroless nickel plating of the brass (CZ121). I have read a lot of the literature about this process prior to the lab tests. All brass surface cleaning procedures that I have came across involve the electro cleaning (I understand why). However...

PLC control programming for two heaters, TCK, s/s relays

@danw2 Thank you for your detailed info on the PLC layout for the scenario. I am grateful, it helped me a lot. I have amended the PLC logic. I send it attached. I will think about the high limit control loops for the system, thank you for your advice. @itsmoked Indeed, the two stage control...

PLC control programming for two heaters, TCK, s/s relays

Hi, I would like to provide the PLC control for a scenario where the temperature in a machine, heated by the two electric heaters, is controlled with use of 1 TCK and 2 s/s relays. Please see draft “PLC4” sent attach. The TCK is fixed to the machine and is not in a physical contact with the...

Selection of multi-pin connector for power lead cables

@ScottyUK Thank you for your answer. The heaters are controlled separately through the PLC. Each heater requires separate wires.

Selection of multi-pin connector for power lead cables

Hi, I have 6 cables. Each cable has 3 wires: zero, phase, earth. Each cable supplies 320W 230VAC heater (I have 6 heaters). I am looking for 1 multi pin connector for all these cables for quick plug in/out. Link to example connectors...

    Multi pin connector for TCKs

Hi, In search for multi pin connectors dedicated to the TCKs I have came across the following products, which in case someone would look for them may find these links useful: http://www.omega.co.uk/pptst/MTC_CONN.html http://www.omega.com/temperature/pdf/JPCB_TJPCB_RJPCB.pdf...

    Multi pin connector for TCKs

Hi, I have 6 K type TCKs connected to the machine component. Component with TCKs is frequently dismantled from the machine for refurbishment. I am lookimg for some quick 'plug in/out' connector/connection for these TCKs. Is there any thing like this avaialble? I can find multi-pin...

Connecting tip for TCK type K

@Compositepro Thank you for your reply. This is one of the options, nevertheless, I would prefer little bit more 'tidy' connection. @ScotyyUK The ring lug would be very small 5-10mm diameter. The brass component size is 50mmx59mmx2000mm. Adding fixing tips should not change thermal balance...

Connecting tip for TCK type K

@ScottyUK Thank you for your reply. The connection between the brass component and the TCK type K tip needs to be demountable.

Connecting tip for TCK type K

Hi, I need to connect my TCK type K to the brass component which has working temperature approximately 200degC. I intend to drill/tap a hole in the brass (M3) and fix TCK to it with a bolt. I wonder whether using ring crimp terminal as the tip for the termocouple would be a good option...

Solution for electroless nickel plating works when electrictity is applied only

Hi, I have a brass components (brass grade CZ121) which require electroless nickel plating (not electroplating). I cannot get electroless nickel coating for my brass component from regular coating companies because of its complex geometry. Along with air agitation, special jig is required to...

Thermal insulation between two metal components

Hi, I have the machine component which size is 2m x 0.2m x 0.4m (component is sorounded by enclosure, as outlined on attached draft). Component has a couple of metal braided cables which have their inlets along the longer side (2 meters). Component is made of mild steel and its working...

    Set-up of Sestos PID controller

@itsmoked Thank you for your reply. I did not update my post in regards to use of ON/OFF and PID options. I have already switched to PID. I think that I will try first changing the value of output limiter (from 100% say to 50% first). Hopefully, this solution will ok.
