Connecting tip for TCK type K

Hi,

I need to connect my TCK type K to the brass component which has working temperature approximately 200degC.
I intend to drill/tap a hole in the brass (M3) and fix TCK to it with a bolt.

I wonder whether using ring crimp terminal as the tip for the termocouple would be a good option.
If yes, I think it would be good to use brass made rings.

What do you think? Is the ring crimp terminal a right choice as the connection tip for TCK type K?

At 200°C adhesives are a possibility. You're within the capability of a thermally conductive silicone, although if you don't need fast response a regular silicone would probably serve as well.

The connection between the brass component and the TCK type K tip needs to be demountable.
 
A crimp terminal would not be a good way to attach a thermocouple. The crimp is a small distance from the clamp area, which introduces a thermal resistance that will make the thermocouple read low. Just clamp the thermocouple under a washer.
 
What are the relative sizes of the ring lug and the brass component? You generally want to avoid adding thermal mass to the object under test because that slugs the response time, and you don't want to add anything which acts as a heatsink or cooling fin if it can appreciably increase the heat dissipation. The trick using the ring lug will be to achieve a good thermal connection between the t/c tip and the lug without mangling the tip. Commercial types seem to use silver solder as part of the manufacturing process

I assume that you're aware that t/c's with this style of mounting are commercially available, e.g. The #6 size has a 3.5mm clearance hole.

This is one of the options, nevertheless, I would prefer little bit more 'tidy' connection.

The ring lug would be very small 5-10mm diameter.
The brass component size is 50mmx59mmx2000mm.
Adding fixing tips should not change thermal balance.
Besides, the brass component is intensively heated with powerful electric elements.

I came across commercially available components but not these. I check them thank you.
