205 VDC vs 230 VAC coils

Hi, I came across a hydraulic valve with 205 VDC coil recently. The coil has a connector with rectifier mounted on it. That means that the voltage applied to the coil is 230 VAC. I am wondering, why not use an AC valve with 230 VAC coils instead of valve with 205 VDC coils?

    help identifying a flange

Hi, Need some help to identify a flange. Attached are the photos of the flange. According to the designations I would say it could be ASME B16.5 flange with groove RTJ. Any opinion would be appreciated. Thank you.

    dr10 interface seal size

    Perhaps you could use: 21.89 x 2.62 12.42 x 1.78 Those are the standard o-rings (see page 3 below): https://www.parker.com/literature/Industrial-Systems-Division-Europe/Catalogues/Industrial%20Valves%20UK/02/Access02.pdf

    Hydraulic oil cooler "net"

I believe you will get less cooling power. Because the net is the restriction to air flow, just like debris and leaves. On the other hand, if the cooler is sized big enough it should work.

Hi, When using connections for pressurized sir (e.g. male stud adapter) do you prefer to use PTFE tape as a Seal or Cooper washer?

Accumulator maximum pressure & minimum pressure

Yes, that would complicate calculation :)

Accumulator maximum pressure & minimum pressure

Dear FluidPowerUser, thank you for the great reply! It took a lot of effort to write it. I have read it in detail and have some additional questions. I believe there is a typo here. I believe you meant P3/P2 = V2/V3? I am having a hard time figuring this out (945 cc). The volume difference...

Accumulator maximum pressure & minimum pressure

Hello, I have been looking into accumulator formulas and would like your opinion on it. Let's say I would like to use an accumulator to extract a cylinder at 100 bar. What would be in that case the minimum working pressure (P1) and maximum working pressure (P2). I'm guessing the minimum would...

    Standard Cylinder Sizes

Hi Peter, I've just seen your post. My email sent the notification to spam. It seems to me that you are right, that all these cylinders over 320 mm are custom made. The standard which can be found in manufacturer's datasheets is ISO 6022, and I've found a link to the preview of that standard...

    Beam stress calculation

Hello, I need a help with my weld stress calculation. I have a rectangular tube supported by a rib. I have attached a hand-made drawing on the following link: https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=53fe3023-411a-4165-a80b-8727cfa904bf&file=Weld_problem.pdf I have a fillet weld...

Flow divider with check valve problem

Are you sure? When cylinders retract they have a non-restricted flow to filter? Or I'm wrong.
