    Layoffs 2024-2025 ??

You might be out of step... in many countries around the world EVs are making great inroads. Norway has 93% of its vehicles as EVs. It's just the US and the countries it 'controls' that are not keeping up.

    Layoffs 2024-2025 ??

That's changing... the batteries are becoming better and lasting for decades. You can get much longer distances with them. The new batteries are not prone to ignition. Due to the added weight, the tires are a bit of a problem but are being improved. In the last decade they have made huge...

I understand the operating costs are substantially reduced, too.

Solar powered ferry replaces diesel powered ferry and doesn't work

The more wheels reduce the stress in the concrete pavement. The pavement was originally designed for a particular loading pattern. As time goes by, the load conditions may change and they have to add additional wheels to reduce the stress. Sort of like adding a little more displacement. :)

    Layoffs 2024-2025 ??

Not meaningless... just uncertain. It's sort of a 'heads up', in case it does happen. I'd hate to be caught off guard.

    Someone stole my CAD files!

I suspect they could be charged with theft. At very least you should be able to file a complaint with the professional association. Several years back I did up a bunch of details for Dywidag threadbars. A few months later I came across them on a Czech website. I had to register and sign in...

    Frost Protection for Interior Footings

He's correct. If unheated I usually treat interior footings like exterior ones. You can use high load rigid insulation.

Solar powered ferry replaces diesel powered ferry and doesn't work

Thanks, I didn't know that. I thought the speed and power was involved a little bit...

    Layoffs 2024-2025 ??

This is a bad industry to be in. IMHO. With the advent of BEVs, the German auto industry is about to get decimated, I suspect. They have not kept up until recently and have still been favouring ICE vehicles. They have been losing massive amounts of money. The North American auto...

Casting concrete directly to pile cap which has muddy water

It's not good practice but unless the muddy water is adhering to the rebar and cap, it will not likely cause any problems. Think of it as tremmie concrete in a muddy river.
