    @ kingnero (Mechanical). machining before welding to reduce the thickness for qualification of WPS for low wall thickness. because material for low wall thickness is not available, so my quation is, is it allowed to machine down to low wall thickness for welding procedure qualification? thanks

    Hi everyone, i put my case in front of welding professionals. suppose i have a pipe 6"x15.88, APIL 5L X60. i want welding procedure qualification for 6"x8mm. my question is, can i reduce the thickness of 6"x15.88 to 8mm by machining till up to HAZ or little more, just to qualify for 6"x8mm...
