    Micro Irrigation Pump flow rate

Hi I got a automatic micro irrigation system with different zones containing sprinkler, dripper and bubbler which are designed to operate at different time. How could I determine the flow rate of the pump? Thank you

    Residential range hood-high rise building

Hi Guys, We have 28 kitchens in a 7 storey apartment connected to 2 no of roof top exhaust fan. designed CFM for a kitchen is 80. when I checked with suppliers of range hood, I could not find hood having pressure loss data.most of the hoods are more than 200 CFM, which I think too high...

    Pressure gauge reading

Thanks, LittleInch, but I am still baffled coz despite the reading mechanism of the gauges in the fluid flow, the effect will be the total pressure (if the velocity pressure is not negligible as you mentioned) which is going to be converted into the reading, isn't it?

    Calculating room pressure

Hi Guys, Is there any method to calculate the room pressure from CFM and other available parameters without measuring from devices? thanks

    Pressure gauge reading

Hi any Savvy, Would anyone explain to me what the pressure gauge in the fluid pipe reads (either analog or digital), I mean static or total pressure? I found from some web sources that it reads only static and we need to add the velocity pressure. Thanks

Hi How to determine the return a

Thank you all for the replies, Lnewqban, yes the infiltration should have been taken into account. either +/- pressure, we can calculate certain amount of air to compensate. could you please help me to calculate the infiltration rate?

    Hi CARRIER HAP load calculatio

Thanks Guys Robertogrrmos, you must be right, though the heat transfer equation shows only the area, the U value should depend on the thickness. I meant same wall that the same area and orientation.

Hi How to determine the return a

Thanks Gents, I would like to know the EA and RA rates, I mean I the designer came up with those numbers? is there any rules to size the return flow or is it from the equipment data?

Hi How to determine the return a

Thanks FL Eng, I am asking about the supply and return rates, please find attached picturehttp://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=f99ff5ae-8bfe-483c-b120-11124b504c90&file=RETURN_AIR.jpg

Hi How to determine the return a

Hi How to determine the return air flow rate and exhaust air flow rate of AHU? OA & supply air shall be calculated. all I know return has to be same as supply and OA shall be subtracted, but I found in other designs that return is taken 2-10% less the the supply rate ,can anyone please tell...

    Hi CARRIER HAP load calculatio

Hi CARRIER HAP load calculation shows different heat load for a same roof/wall with same U value but different thickness. Logically more the thickness greater the heat/cooling load but by the equation of heat transfer for wall/roofs it only depends on the area, U and temp.difference could...

Cavitation in suction lift centrifugal pumps

Hi Gents, Thank you for your replies, LittleInch, you are right, when we calculate the available head, but what does the pressure gauge at suction read? it is the static pressure resulted from all losses (velocity head to be added to get the total pressure) so if the pressure just before the...

    Recirulation pump under performing

LittleInch If other factors are normal, then possible reason for low flow will be from foot valves. foot valves might not open fully, means need to go for less stiff foot valves. What do you say? Note that the foot valves used here PN-16 & 10.

    Recirulation pump under performing

Pressure gauges are new, calibrated. did not find any noticeable clogs. Flow measured with ultrasonic meter and later realized it might not be accurate if flow is low. then new calibrated turbine flow meter installed. Not much difference in the reading. Impeller/ Volute checked, precipitated...

Cavitation in suction lift centrifugal pumps

Hi, To avoid cavitation in centrifugal pumps it has been stated that the static+dynamic head at suction to be greater than the vapor pressure, my question is, if the static reading is negative and the suction velocity head is too small then the total head is negative which is less than the...
