    HEAT EXCHANGER SYSTEM CURVE

My favorite quotes from BigInch: "What kind of valve is that??? Broken?" Hahaha Made by BROKEN valve Maschinenbau ... ;) The installation should be simple. It is just cold water pump to filter, to HX and get back to open tank and go to pump suction. O ya, the opened valve bring the raise of...

    HEAT EXCHANGER SYSTEM CURVE

Thanks for the reply. The pressure reading is at the pump discharge. The pump flow/pressure always follows the performance curve line, right? The curve is rather steep. So if the pump flow increases, the pressure must be less, i.e opened valve should release some numbers of friction losses...

    HEAT EXCHANGER SYSTEM CURVE

Perhaps I missed this class while in college ... I understand that the actual pumping capacity (and head) is the result of intersection between pump curve and system curve. there is a pump supplying cold water for a typical heat exchanger process (cooling). By the ampere meter reading, we can...

NDE Bearing Burn in Boiler Feed Pump

Hi.... i have problem in boiler feed pump, the NDE bearing is over heat and burn only in seconds, we replace with new bearing, and the problem still same. 10 stages pump with balancing device and balancing pipe, gland packing. type of bearing tapper roller bearing, balancing drum is new...

    Pipeline vs Truck

Actually I want to compare the energy required, in case there is someone ever calculate it for real. I imagine, for a truck hauling, the vehicles need to bring the truck bodies, one trip full contained and one trip fully empty for one work cycle. In the pipeline (in this case, paste pumping) the...

    Pipeline vs Truck

Thanks David, It is in the open pit mining sites. We are used to applying trucks to transport thin mud(o-o not thick-sorry, misters)after dewatering. (Actually they add it with dry solid) for better handling. First, I guess pipeline is better, because the trucks also carry their own weight. But...

    Pipeline vs Truck

Hello, I wonder if someone ever calculate the comparation of power consumption between the thick mud transportation by pipeline and by truck. If necessary The capacity is say it 300 m3/hr height 250 m and length 2000 m. But for dump truck, it should be much longer because dump trucks have to...

maximum vibration limit of process gas compression??

Dear All, sorry for given uncomplete data. the first vendor guarantee a maximum effective vibration velocity of 11 mm/s (rms) measured at the cylinder edge with requirement : highly adjusted, rigid foundation with rigidly fixed pipes. the effective vibration velocity of the foundation inferior...

maximum vibration limit of process gas compression??

Dear All, i have a question regarding to our decission to install a unit of oxygen compressor. we have 2 candidate of compressor vendor which all have design : vertical, dry running - oil free type, comply to API 618 4th edition its service with output pressure up to 40 BarG and shaft power 350...

    Fitting distance from Pump

What is the purpose of 5 X DN discharge?

    Fitting distance from Pump

I read from a pump manual that we should be avoid any fittings, including bends, compensators, valves in the area of 5 X DN suction and 5 X DN discharge. I guess if before suction, the fitting will make the flow less smooth and can make cavitation. But what is the purpose of this 5 x DN? Thanks...

    Thermal Expansion Computation

    I mean solid rigid body.

    Thermal Expansion Computation

Dear Sir, How do we compute the thermal expansion of pump? Can we assume it as a solid body, so using the thermal coefficient of pump casing? Anyone have experience of this, please your help. Cheers, Muwardi

    Selfpriming Pump

Dear all, Can you give solution for this requirement : To Empty the liquid from the drum to the vessel. After the drum is empty, the liquid from discharge hose must be drained by rotating the pump reversely, to make all hose line is empty from liquid. (can star impeller pump rotates reversely?)...

    Expansion loop

Hi all, Where can I go to get to know how to design an expansion loop. For thermal oil 250 deg C, circulation pump. What is the "hydrostatically balanced" expansion joint? Thanks yo, MW

    wear resistant pumps

Yo Daniela, To fight abrasive fluid is by using harder material than the particles. But it's not practical economical. Diamond is the hardest material on earth. Use it, and no other mat'l can make it wear. :)) Just use rubber lining pump. Or Progressive Cavity. Most people use it. MW

    Positve despensing pumps

Dear Aniche, If sites are what you're looking for, try google or any search engine, and search for : "positive displacement pump" + principle + application. Good luck. I will come with my site soon. Hehehe. Regards, MW

    Molasses pumps

Dear Olmedo, I have some brochures of it. But when I see the manufacturer's homepages, I just find a showroom there. Perhaps I can scan the brochures. Reach me at santoso.muwardi@bumicahayaunggul.com.
