Hello,
Can anybody tell me what's the max velocity or acceptable range for carbon steel, sched 80 transporting 98% sulfuric acid at 40C? some states that it should be around 0.9 m/s, while other sources states around 1.2-1.5 m/s :) Thank you!
@shvet, we are in the process of designing a wastewater treatment plant. One of the reagents needed for the process is coagulant, ferric sulfate. Ferric sulfate will be mixed with 98% sulfuric acid in a 2m3 mixing tank together with water. As I have stated above, we initially decided to use...
What material is more suitable for weak sulfuric acid? we are currently designing a coagulant mixing tank. Our coagulant, which is ferric sulfate, will be mixed with 98% sulfuric acid. Initially, we decided to use carbon steel coated with enecon as our tank material. Is it okay to use SUS316 for...
Hi all,
I just got hired as a process design engineer, however this is my first job and just recently passed the boards. I'm a metallurgical engineer btw. I'm at lost right now since this position is just added a couple years back. There is no established training program for process design...
Hi! :)) May I ask what is the suitable material for a pump impeller having a medium of caustic soda with a temperature of around 29-38C? And if you guys could suggest a reference book about material selection for certain chemicals, i would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
I have recently been hired as a process design engineer in a smelting plant, and I am currently looking for softwares that I could use. I currently have pipeflow software, but there may be better software options available. What do you suggest?
