I agree, we lack proper welding design and procedure. I am doing the best I can with the very limited resources that we have available. Our structures need to be properly welded with good penetration because we galvanize them after and we have had problems there too.

We are welding 150mm x 50mm rectangular tube steel together to form a box.
The wall thickness is 5mm. We weld them to form perpendicular intersections so we basically weld a fillet weld up the sides of the tube, then weld flat accross the part...
