    carbamate corrosion at moderate T & p?

DS and IM: In the meantime, I learned about the publication of C.P. Dillon in "Materials Performance" (Dec 1999, p.74f), who mentions several applications - besides Urea - where carbamates are discussed as corrosive agents: alkylamine production, NH3 stripping (alkanolamine, ethyleneamine...

    carbamate corrosion at moderate T & p?

IM, carbamate occur as first reaction product in processes dealing with CO2, NH3 and water, including carbon capture by NH3. I don't know about ARUs Demser

    carbamate corrosion at moderate T & p?

Dear all, carbamate is known as corrosive agent in urea plants, where high pressure and temperature are applied. But what about mixtures of CO2,NH3, water at moderate temperatures (10 - 80°C) and moderate pressure (1 - 10 bara)? I am asking because when quering for 'carbamate corrosion' or...

amse b31.3 - stress ratio acc fig. 323.2.2B: documentation in the papers?

Hi XLl83NL, thank you for feedback. My office is in the EU but design is - in this case - according to ASME. This was a more general question, referring to piping and equipment. Also ASME BPVC allows this reduction in temperature if the stress is reduced.

amse b31.3 - stress ratio acc fig. 323.2.2B: documentation in the papers?

Hi, asme b31.3 fig. 323.2.2B allows application of low-T carbon steel below -48°C if the requirements on Stress Ratio are met. But how is this "translated" into the documents, e.g. pipe class, or for ordering, or for documentation to a Notified Body? In other words: How / where to fix it in...

Practical experience with S-TEN in flue gas treatment / sulfuric acid?

Hi Community, for a project on flue gas cooling below the acid dew point, several materials are discussed, among them S-TEN1 and S-TEN2 steel. These are - per composition - weathering steels. According to manufacturers information, the performance in sulfuric acid over a wide concentration...

NACE MR 0175 / ISO 15156 - H2S and its relevance for assessment of HIC

Dear all with the new combined standard NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156-2002, several changes had been introduced (with respect to previous MR 0175 versions), still present in the most recent version of 2015. HIC (Hydrogen Induced Cracking) is among the new features, and described in Clause 8 of ISO...

2205 /1803 duplex in seawater: corrosion tabels available?

Yes, that is the is exactly the problem. An UNS S31803 device has been ordered though super duplex should be applied - I fully agree to you. "Troubleshooting: install 1803 and replace by superduplex when available" At 10°C, CCT is not far...

2205 /1803 duplex in seawater: corrosion tabels available?

SJones, thank you for your advice. I was looking for 22Cr duplex to be applied at 10°C. General corrosion seems not to be an issue at this temp., whereas CPT is about 30°C and CCT less than 20°C. So, 22Cr should be applicable. Regards!
