Thanks Mike for response.
Door is SA 350Lf2 CL1 but having weldoverlay and some fillet welds for attachment.
Can we still live with it ?

Stephen,
Vessel will not sustain the design requirements.
Absolute pressure for process in our case is 3.5+1.01325 = 4.01325 bar A
When we transfer to moon
Gauge Pressure = 4.01325 (Bar A) - Atm pr (0 on moon) = 4.01325 bar G (moon)
So you need to design at higher value design pressure which...
It is new Vessel with new QOC and U stamped.
Quick actuating door assembly hub is welded to Pig trap. The hinged Door was removed and had not gone under PWHT, entire vessel was done.
After PWHT the door was hydro tested. Required NDE has been done.

Dear Adam
For understanding , Let me create one design scenario.
We transfer your designed (3.5 bar g) Vessel thickness corresponding to this to moon will it survive? Considering Moon does not have atmosphere you need to design it for Absolute pressure and not gauge pressure.
Earth atmosphere...
We have Pig trap (ASME Sec VIII Div1) under Lethal Service having Quick opening door (QOC).
Vessel requires PWHT per UW-2 Lethal service requirements.
Query: Quick opening Closure (QOC) was welded to Pig trap and the PWHT was done inline with Code requirements for Lethal Service. However the...
Girth flange design requires good judgement on bolt dia selection & spacing,
Bolt spacing should be enought for the maintenance point of view, but should not be more as would lead to leakages.
As pressure increases bolt spacing becomes less.
Use this for bolt spacing.

Pranjal,
One more conidtion when the Vessel experiences FV or External load:-
1.If Vessel is located in pit, soil load in closed pit on the vessel.
2.Also for open pit due to rain there is water in open pit.
Vessel may experience external pressure incase vessel is at atm pressure from inside...
Hello Weldstan,
Are there any specific criteria defined for identfying the potential crack site.
Thank you in advance.

[smile]Hi,
I am working on set of Division 2 vessels thickness (50-65mm, SA 516 Gr 65 +Alloy 825 clad). There is NDT requirement for Acoustic Emission Examination based on Article 12 of ASME Sec V.
Please provide acceptance criteria for Acoustic Examination test for heavy wall pressure...
GabrieleB,
I agree with you, internal linings during depressurization will not sustain. Further just to support your claim check if there is any Full vacuum design requirement wherin this internal linings will not survive for sure.

AK
Software approach is correct, consider the situation of Column design where liquid head can make quite a big difference for the nozzle located in the bottom section.
