I recommend to mesh it in thetraedral elements of second order, hexa meshing is ideal but thetraedral mesh also give good results, hexa meshing is a lot of work to do, and it depends of your accuracy and experience on meshing parts.
Please note that using both therms, pressure and stress, like the two of them were the exact same thing is not correct.
rb1957 is right by saying that just because the two of them have the same units doesn't mean they are exchangables, stress is defined by a pressure applied to an specific...
Regarding the RBE3 and RBE2 the main difference is that RBE2 add stiffness in the results, unlike the RBE3 elements that doesn't add any value to the result stiffness matrix, most common is to use RBE2 elements to represent those component's joins like screws, push pins, etc, RBE3 elements...
How did you do that?, are you moving elements only from one component to another one? I've done a lot of simulations using different collectors in the same geometry and this result never shows up. See if your elements still connected to the same mesh (you can do it by using the option by...
I not recommend to use simetry in modal analysis, when you run a simulation like this, and solve for, for saying, 10 normal modes, the non-symmetric modes are wrong at all, so if you gonna run a modal analysis using symmetry be careful with your results, use the entire model
That is always confuse, but, however, you need to make a consistent manage of the units you're using
In this case if you make a scale factor, it doesn't mean that you are modifying the properties of the part, you are just moving the geometry, therefore you are no making modifications to...
Yes, I was using a .dat type file, I realize that when you export shell elements, it doesn't load, but when I export solid elements the exportation have no problems, except that the solid elements doesn't respect the collectors
Thanks for your help
Hi, this is my first time here
I'm a CAE Engineer in the automotive industry, I was using NX in order to mesh a file which has a very complex geometry, then I export it as a FEM file using the Export Simulation option (Solver NASTRAN, Structural), but when I read it with HM, the file doesn't...
Hi everyone
I was traying to export a file as a Nastran bulk data (file.dat) in order to read it in Hypermesh 11.0
The steps I've been follow are:
- Export simulation from NX to Nastran solver dat file
- Read it in Hypermesh as a fem from UG file
Nothing happens...
