Hi,
I know that Hypermesh is unitless, however I have a question. I've imported a model from CATIA and the software has converted the lengths and therefore a length that measures 10 inches in CATIA is coming up as 250.4 in Hypermesh. To put this right, I added a scale factor of 1/25.4, which corrected all measurements so that they are showing the values in inches. My question is this - when I added the scale factor, was I just scaling the geometry, or was I scaling everything? I'm not sure whether I need to input my material properties in pounds and inches, or if I need to convert them into metres and kilograms, or inches per kilogram.....
I hope this question makes sense!
Thanks in advance
Lisa
