    UltraCapacitor Charging Voltage

I should clear some things up. I posted it as a rough example to avoid confusion. The real setup I am working with 12 2.7 2000F capacitors in series with ESR on each cell of .03mohm. These caps can withstand 1700 amps plus for 1-2 sec. Its power rating of 170 amps is for continuous operation...

    UltraCapacitor Charging Voltage

I am working with a hybrid car which charges a bank of ultracaps from regen braking. I read an article which I believe was written by someone who is misinformed, but it had me thinking... Just to clarify some theory about charging voltage, Scenario Max ultracap voltage= 14V Current ultraCap...

    Referencing curved surface for extrusion

Thanks Jackk. I will try that! Can that be done in the sheetmetal workbench? Is there an advantage of using the sheetmetal workbench over the part design if I am making a thin bracket?

    Referencing curved surface for extrusion

Here is an example. I have a plate floating between three cylinder sheets. I need the plate to bolt to the curved sheets. How do I make the interface for the plates mounting points to follow the curvature of the cylinders? Does that make more sense? I was reading that maybe I could extrude...

    Referencing curved surface for extrusion

I'm new to CATIA V5 after using Pro/E, Solidworks, and UG. What is the best way/tool to create a bracket which connects to a curved surface which has no data attached? I can't seem to figure out how to do this with a solid, but especially with the sheet metal tool. I have been trying a few...

Multiple Power Sources on vehicle chassis- Same ground

Thanks for the post, originally there was only one power source, you are correct. It is a two stroke, but unfortunately no magneto, just a constant drain on the battery.

Multiple Power Sources on vehicle chassis- Same ground

Gotcha. I didn't mean jumping through space but merely changing paths on the ground...Anyways, I do understand insulation, but I appreciate you taking your time to help clarify everything for me!

Multiple Power Sources on vehicle chassis- Same ground

haha your a funny guy. The second is a great analogy. I completely understand now! Makes me rethink a lot of things... [ponder]

Multiple Power Sources on vehicle chassis- Same ground

I don't know if I should be laughing but that was hilarious haha. I understood the example about outside the car but then you further confused me. Especially the part that you said "I shouldn't have mentioned it"... Anyways, I think I understand that I can have 1 battery (12v) and another...

Multiple Power Sources on vehicle chassis- Same ground

I am working on a Senior Design project for Mechanical Engineering Degree, so electrical understanding is not my best skill. I have a vehicle chassis whose two stroke engine is started with a starter motor which only has a positive lead (no negative lead). I assume it pulls its ground from the...
