Hello,
I am simulating heating of a copper wire with laser welding. I am using a uncoupled heat transfer model for this purpose. As I am applying very high heat flux, the temperature goes up instantly. When I don't define melting. there is no problem with the model. However, when I defined...
One more thing. The property will vary with temperature as well.
I defined that change of conductivity, density with temperature.
But i don't know how can i define the change of material property with time as well
I am quite new in abaqus.
Can you tell me how can I define a material whose properties will vary with time?
The materials property is dependent porosity.
I have data for change in porosity with time.
Now the conductivity, density will change with porosity.
How can I do that?
Please help
I get this warning message when I am doing some static coupled thermal-electrical-structural analysis and the simulation doesn't run saying too mant attempts made for this steps.
"16 elements are distorted. Either the isoparametric angles are out of the suggested limits or the triangular or...
I am doing coupled temperature-electrical analysis for Spark Plasma Sintering using ABAQUS.
I requested for Heat flux due to electric current (SJD) in the field output request.
But, I can only get the Heat flux due to electric current (SJD) at the contact surfaces.
How can I get the SJD...
I need to model sintering of Fe based amorphous ribbons coated with Cu/Ni . The ribbon is about 25 micron and coatings are 5-10 micron. There will be 20 layers of this ribbon coated with Cu/Ni stacked together. What type of element should I use for ribbons and coating? And how do I define the...

I am making a coupled temperature-electrical-structural model for Spark Plasma Sintering. I have used abaqus standard.
The model worked for simple geometry involving only 3 parts (2 punch and die), but it is not converging for my original model which has 2 punch, sample, die, 4 spacers.
I used...

I did a coupled temperature-electrical model beforehand and it worked well.
But the new 3 way coupling model is showing too many errors.-

I am doing some electrical-thermal analysis.
i need to apply a total of 800A current on the top surface of my axisymmetric body.
I choose surface current as my load and put a value of 800A / (cross sectional area of top surface). Then I choose the top surface (in axisymmetry 2D model, that...
I am trying to model a axisymmetric composite shell (ribbons in real case) structure.
The shell (ribbon ) is 10 mm in thickness, 10 mm in diameter and has 5 plies.
I chose axisymmetric, deformable, shell for my part.
Then I sketched a rectangle with 5mm X 10 mm dimension.

Guys, need some suggestion.
I am doing temperature-current coupled simulation for the punch-die-sample assembly of spark plasma sintering apparatus.
Earlier I did the simulation for monolithic material sample like Cu, Al etc which were in the millimeter range.
Now I need to do it for a...
