Yes you are right; We want to overcome some performance problems. I have shown one small example. But we have quite huge assemblies (around 5000 parts) where we want to use representations in drawing views for such big assemblies. We are successfully using it; but only issue is with Shaded...
Just to clarify; If I do not use Representation for the assembly in drawing, then I am getting the correct geometry in pdf with shaded view. This issues happens only when Representations are used in drawing for the assembly. And Yes I am using the same settings; View Rendering Style: Fully...
Please see the attached data for the issue.
There is a Drawing for an assembly and assembly has Representation created in it by advance assembly command. And the representation is stored on reference set named as REP.
In drawing I have used REP as reference set for assembly and added isometric...
Hello,
I am using NX8.5.2.3.
When I create Representations in an assembly and same I use to show on drawing with shaded views (Lightweight, Smart Lightweight and Exact etc.)
But the pdf and cgm created by this way do not show the correct results. Is it true that the shaded views are forbidden...
Hello
I am using NX 8.5
When I add section view to already existing Break View it gives me message as follows.
"The View Break will result in a hidden section lines" When press OK on message section line is not visible.
So my question; Is this message is a warning or a Bug?
Please see the...
Hello John
I tried what you said above but not able to deform or may be I do not understand what you want to say.
Can you please explain in brief? How to deform this in assembly. (may be some important steps)
Regards
Dipak
Hello
Can anybody explain how to design flexible bellows and Hose in NX?
I have tried multiple times to use “Deformable parts” for flexible hoses and Bellows.
With no results unfortunately. I have to take into account that a flexible hose or bellows needs to be able to freely move in 3 planes...
Yes Kapil
I did it using replace face as well as tangent face (synchronous modeling).
But I was expecting it automatically to detect the face profile. not using synchronous modeling.

Hi
I am trying to give groove weld between two parts (part one is with rectangular surface, part 2 is circular face)
But the groove weld created is not following the circular face part profile.
Please see the attached image.
I am using NX8.5
Thanks
Hi,
I am working on multicad structures & we are into migration phase (migrating from Ideas to NX)
Some time we need to use Ideas structures into the NX assemblies. (.jt or Brep)
But I am not able to export NX assembly containing Ideas parts (JT) outside Teamcenter.
It gives error that Ideas...
I am not convinced or do not understand...
no where in help or cast of NX 8.5 it is mentioned that you need to promote or link first
for using weld assistant.
And if that is the case then why it allows to give weld without promoting or linking bodies.
Wirh error on editing: UNEXPECTED TOPOLOGY...
That is what my question. Why we have to do promote or link body before applying welds.
Please tell me the reason in detail. or there is any another way to do this without promote or link bodies.
Why we need to create promoted bodies or wave link before using weld assistant.
I given fillet weld by using assistant. It created the weld but when my parts are modified the weld does not update.
If I try to edit it gives error: UNEXPECTED TOPOLOGY ENCOUNTERED
And when I give the same weld on...
When u do circular array for a hole on cylinder or on the circular plate, then you got to drafting and place the view the center lines coming automatically. but not the bolt circle center lines, it creates simple center marks for each hole.
I am working in NX8,5.
I am not able get automatic centerline for the bolt circles using "Pattern Feature" as a circular instance in NX8,5
It creates simple center lines
But when i was using previous version NX6 that the command was different "Instance Feature" there i use to get the automatic...
@JohnRBaker,
Thanks for this option. I tried it & it has given me the great results.
But I have one question can we use this option on existing large assembly drawings/views?
I tried with existing drawing views it does not highlight the Smart Lightweight option.
