Hi guys
I am trying to simulate a tensile test beyond necking to validate the Stress-strain curve through the comparison of numerical and experimental Load-Displacement curves. Due to the symmetry, I model one eight of flat dog bone specimen, the boundary conditions are shown in the figure...
I am using Abaqus to simulate tensile test beyond necking in order to validate the Stress-strain curve through the comparison of numerical and experimental Load-Displacement curves. Due to asymmetry, I model one eight of flat dog bone specimen, the boundary condition are shown in the figure...
hi abqnubian
there is an easier way to do that:
go the assembly on your model tree and create Set of these nodes then u can get the displacement of all the nodes by choosing that set of nodes from field output.

yes its an option that requires additional work to get model parameters for Gurson model. but the experimental load-displacement does not show any softening till the fracture point which correspond to localized necking. the weird thing here is that the load (from simulation)...
i am simulating tensile test coupon to get true stress-strain beyond necking through revers method or so called trail and error method using Abaqus. the problem am facing is that, when i run the simulation using standard solver the obtained force is very high compare to experimental one...
