Hi all,
Do we need to install a fire sprinkler head in a closet that is less than 24 square feet but without a closet door ? Does the closet (without s door) need to have a minimum lintel depth of 8 inches?

a 1 story building with a 2x10 wood trusses and the roof pitch is less than 4:12
Is the space between the wood trusses and the suspended ceiling an attic or concealed space? What is the difference between attic and concealed space?
So in this case, what is the maximum coverage per head in this...
Our concern is the that every time we branch off from a primary branchline to pick two or three heads in small rooms the preceding branchline will be viewed as a cross main and then would have to be seismically braced regardless of size. If I only use all 1" to 1-1/2" CPVC for a small 13R...
System demand for the dry pipe is 160.6 gpm
length of dry pipe 4" main is about 121 ft
length of the 2-1/2" branch line is about 106 ft
So how do i select the size of the air compressor?
Provide a calculation showing that the 5’-4” long branch line and drop, including the elevation gain from the
cooler ceiling to the existing branch line at .445 X 100 = 45.5gpm, is less than the staring pressure for the roof
level sprinklers at .5 X 11’-6” X 8’ = 46gpm. If the friction loss...
43' of 2½" , 500gpm
The pressure loss is 21.5?
The pressure for the 500gpm hose is dropped to 83.4 (node g2)
I can't get the system work even if i change to a 10" standpipe.
What did i do wrong here?
How do I account the pressure loss for the hose valve?
From table 8.3.1.3 NFPA 14
I figure the equivalent length should be 31+12=43 ft (hose+tee)
So where do i add this length in the hass program ?
All on-site fire hydrants shall flow a minimum of 1,250 gallons per minute at 20 psi for a duration of two hours. If more than one on-site fire hydrant is required, the on-site fire flow shall be at least 2,500 gallons per minute at 20 psi, flowing from two hydrants simultaneously. On site flow...
I have a question regarding water allowance for private hydrant.
According to NFPA 13, 11.1.6.2
Water allowance for outside hose shall be added to the sprinkler requirement at the city main or a private hydrant, whichever is closer to the system riser.

I have a project that we have to install the in-rack sprinkler for plastic group A.
The existing density for the ceiling sprinkler is 0.45 GPM/sq ft. / 3,000s.f.
Storage height is 25ft and Ceiling height is 25'-10", Non-excapsulated, single row rack,
My question is do I need a separate control...
Even though the commodities is Plastic A, if the sunglasses is cartoned and place on a rack, the require density is still 0.20/1500 (Table 13.2.1)w/storage height between >10 to <=12
i think sunglasses packaging is treated as Class IV commodities according to NFPA figure 15.2.2
Note: cartons that contain group a plastic materal are permitted to be tread as class IV commodities under the following conditions.
1) There are multiple layers of corrugation or equivalent outer...
