well, thank you first for the reply, and here is my story:
a piece of pipe to be constructed of SB-575 (UNS-N06200).
Max Operating Temp. is 932 DEG F
Designe Pressure is 2.2 PSIG
if i want to go with Para 323.2.1 to exceed tha Max use temp. listed in table A1-M (800 DEG F)i should first confirm...
thx for your reply
the maximum temperature for c-2000 is 800 F, that one i know.
what i have here is a small vessel fabricated in FEB 2004 per code case 2240-1. with a U- stamp and 932 DEG F design temperature.
1- is that possible??
2- is there a way to get a copy of that code case??
Gentlemen,
Does anyone have experience with or has used ASME VIII Div 1 Code Case 2240-1..?
Does it allow to go above 800 DEG F design temperature for Hastalloy C-2000 (UNS N06200)?
we have a venturi scrubber which was desined pe ASME Sec. VIII. the venturi is U stamped and the design temperature is 932 DEG F. and the material is C-2000
we approched the manufacturer for a new venturi with additional note that the new venturi to be solution annealed at 2075 DEG. F FOR 10...
As you can find in API 570, 8.1.4.1
Temporary repair can not be made unless the pipe SYMS is not more than 40'000 psi,and a Fitness-For-Service analysis shows it is acceptable.
what should be done if the pipe SYMS is more than 40,000psi
