we have a venturi scrubber which was desined pe ASME Sec. VIII. the venturi is U stamped and the design temperature is 932 DEG F. and the material is C-2000
we approched the manufacturer for a new venturi with additional note that the new venturi to be solution annealed at 2075 DEG. F FOR 10 MIN. W/ RAPID AIR QUENCH IN INERT ATMOSTPHERE to resist HCL attack.
then the manufacturer asked us to advise if ASME code stamp will be required. for if this unit requires an ASME code stamp, the maximum temperature they can design to for C-2000 material is 800 °F, and not 932 °F, due to code constraints.
can anyone help me to figure out what these code constraints are?
thx
