I have figured out how to do this. In case someone else wants to know how, here's how I do it:
1. Run the initial forming process.
2. Create a new model by importing only the deformable part from the ODB of previous completed simulation. Right-click on part --> import --> select odb file -->...
Dear Members,
I have an axisymmteric model that undergoes forming process. In this axisymmetric model, I have a rigid body and a deformable body. I can run the simulation and obtain the results.
The next thing that I want to do is to use the results from the axisymmetric model and transform it...
Well I actually apply boundary conditions that only allow the horizontal arm to move freely in horizontal direction (x-direction). That is what I meant by the previous quote. I think this is the right representation when modelling in FEA.
Here, I've attached the 1/4 a quarter of the specimen sketch. I hope this will give you a good idea on the shape of specimen that I wrote in previous post.
As you can see, if I apply tension to the vertical arm and let the horizontal arm to be free, it looks to me that the horizontal arm will...
G'day guys,
I need to design an experiment to investigate the behavior of steel under cyclic loading. I am particularly interested in understanding the phenomenon of Bauschinger effect after reverse loading. I noticed that one of the common way to perform the test is through cyclic...
Probably I should provide a brief information about the simulation that I'm planning to do. I want to model the fracture on soft biological tissues. I want to see the effect of the micro-sturcture on the pathway of crack or delamination. You'll probably know better than me that biological...
Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll look into the details.
The available HGO model indeed has taken into consideration the matrix and fiber. However, I want to go another step. What I'm intended to do is to model fracture. I want to assign different failure criterion for the fiber component...
I am wondering whether it would be possible to "trick" ABAQUS in order to assign two different material properties on the same element. From what I've tried so far, if I assigned two different section assignments with two different material properties on the same part, ABAQUS will only consider...
