Hi every one,
I am working on a new piping system. I have several PSV's installed. I am trying to determine the thrust force for each PSV. Per API 520, for closed discharge systems, the thrust force is considered small as the change in fluid velocity is too small. Per the site's requirements, I...
Thank you everyone for your feedbacks. I actually figure it out. based my discussion with the site, I was told that there are no gaps above the pipe, which contradict with the drawings. I performed dynamic analysis and found that some rod hangers are experiencing uplift forces due to seismic...
pennpiper, Thanks for replying, according to the ISO's there are 100 inches gaps, when I am running the model, I get an uplift of almost 40 Lbs at some of these rods.
I am modeling a piping using AutoPIPE. There are several rod hangers. Each rod hanger had a gap of 100 in. Is there any easy way to perform the dynamic analysis with keeping these gaps?
Hello,
I am working on a project where I am performing pipe stress analysis. I am using AutoPIPE. The code of record is 1973, but AutoPIPE only has 1986 and 1968. I am trying to come up with a justification on why I am using 1986. I compared the stress equations, the allowables, The SIF's...
