Wafer valve on HDPE pipe with loose flanges

Installing a 32" wafer butterfly valve at HDPE pipes with loose flanges would be a problem? Can anyone share experience regarding this combination (relatively big wafer valve mounted with loose flanges)? Thanks.

Optional type of flange 8a (ASME code)

Is this a silly question? As per ASME code, that flange can be calculated as integral or loose, but, in my opinion, the code is not 100% clear about what are the h and g1 dimensions to be considered. If I look to sketch 7 it seems to me that I have to consider only dimensions of weld fillet...

Optional type of flange 8a (ASME code)

If I design a flange like in sketch 2-4 8a as integral, what are the "h" and "g1" values I should use? See the drawing. I'm not sure if I am supposed to calculate as a normal weld neck flange, or consider only the dimensions of the weld fillet. Thanks...

    AWWA C207 - ARMCO Bulletin

Hi, trying to understand how AWWA flanges were sized I came across this part of the AWWA standard: "There is no one exact stress-based design method that could reproduce the thickness values in the tables. However, it appears the ring flange thicknesses in this standard are based on using the...

    Blind Flange With Opening

SnTMan, UG-39 states that if openings are greater than half of head's diameter, thickness shall be calculated as per appendix 14. When openings are smaller, which is my case, ASME code does not say anything about head thickness. So it's implied, I guess, that thickness is the same as in UG-34...

    Blind Flange With Opening

Hi, I have a 72" blind flange and need to attach a 12" pipe at it, as in the sketch below: My question is: can I size the thickness of that blind as per ASME Code Section VIII, UG-34? Or, since is a blind with openening, the thickness is bigger than a regular blind thickness. I didn't find...

EN 1092-1 - "to be specified by the purchaser"

Hi, does anyone know the reason why EN 1092-1 chooses to only specifie mating dimensions for some flanges? Other dimensions, like thickness, are "to be specified by the purchaser". Thanks.
