Hi
I am working with a pressure vessel fabrication using AD-Merblatter, and having difficulties to get the DIN materials in time.
So we opt for ASME material instead. Is this allowed by AD? If this is allowed, how can we can the approval? What will be the allowable stress value to be used (can...
Yes, I always prefer a forged valve than casted valve.
1-1/2" valve typically supplied in forged condition, 2" and above supplied in casted condition.
But if can get forged valve size 2" and above is better.

Hi
According to ASME B16.34, only two type of tests specified, i.e. shell test and closure/seat test. But API STD 598 has one additional testing which is "backseat test". If the valve the we are receiving without the backseat test, is it acceptable? Which code should govern, ASME B16.34 or API...
Thanks Caloooomi for the feedback. Yes, the channel head that is to be reused was not manufactured by the same fabricator.
So it is true that we cannot insist for U stamp if the vessel is not a complete fabrication. Maybe we should use Partial Data Report and R-stamped it instead.
Hi All
We are now fabricating a heat exchanger, TEMA type BEU. The fabrication is considered partial fabrication as the front end channel is not part of the project scope (re-use the old channel).
To to this "partial" fabrication, the fabricator is reluctant to stamp ASME certification mark...
