    NX export to 3D PDF

Hi Tomas, thanks for making me meet JT2Go. I was looking for such a free software to view Nx files and take some basic measurements etc.

    Opening second NX

Thank you, Dave. An easy task seems so difficult to do as always in NX...

    Opening second NX

Hello, is it possible to open the 2nd NX when one is already open? Without Teamcenter it was possible and it was quite handy to work 2 projects at the same time. I have NX9 and Teamcenter 10. Thanks in advance.

    Adding same component in multilocations

Ok this is not the best way but I did it like this: I once added the components manually 50 times using 50 different point expressions and recorded a macro. When I need to do this task another time I simply import the xyz locations as point expressions and playback the macro.

    Adding same component in multilocations

Hi all, I need a help with this task which I could not find out myself. I have a component and I want to add it to one assembly about 50 times in different locations. I have the x,y,x coordinates in a text file. How to do this fastest way instead of adding component one by one and writing...

Horror stories! Why we need teamcenter PDM

For me as a mechanical designer, one reason is that all the parts are stored in one folder in server. There is no more lost parts in an assembly or you dont need to search in what folder the part was. And because each part has a uniq id, there is no more complication if there are two different...

    BOM List in Teamcenter

I want to have it sorted in TC. For example, if I want to order X component, no matter in what sub-assembly it is, I want to get the total quantity in one line. It should not be so difficult task but how to do it? :)

    BOM List in Teamcenter

Teamcenter 10, NX 9 Hi all, I have a main assembly in NX and in this main assembly I have 4 different sub assemblies(lets call them A,B,C,D). In these A,B,C,D sub assemblies, I have some same components. When I want to order the components in main assembly, I send it to structure manager and...

    not shown lines in drafting

jerry1423; there is no interfering bodies, there is only one rail which I downloaded from supplier`s webpage.

    not shown lines in drafting

In general tab there was no tolerance, I changed the tolerance in configuration tab but it didnt help. This is funny but those lines became visible when I changed un the "Representation" from "Exact" to "Smart Lightweight". I would think that exact option should include more details than...

    not shown lines in drafting

Hello, sometimes on drafting side some lines are lost. Does someone know how to bring them? In the file I attached you see a small assembly and the lines of the guide rails are disappeared(even though you can see end part of it)...

    CMM fixture design help needed

Thanks ajack1. I understand what you mean. But wouldnt it make more sense to create CMM coordinates directly from the part, not from the fixture? Then we would eliminate the initial fixture manufacturing tolerances, from the bushings till the locating pins.

NX9 - Sheet bodies to Solid Bodies?

You can also sew manually with "Sew" feature. Sewing doesnt always work though because of imperfections at the sheet.

    CMM fixture design help needed

I am not sure but I think these can be two of the reasons why they need a fixture: 1. Because there are also features to be measured under the part, if you put the part directly on the granite, you cant measure them. 2. (even though I find it weird) Some customers want to measure the part as it...

    CMM fixture design help needed

No worry, JNieman. you gave me very good information, thanks! One question: if I use pin in a hole, does it need to be a hole which doesnt need to be measured? How otherwise can it be measured if there is pin inside?

    CMM fixture design help needed

Really thanks all for helpful comments. I didnt know that it is written to drawing how the part must be measured. After I read MadMango`s comment about "Free State" I checked the drawing and It is written on the bottom edge that at "measurement fixture in Z is clamped on features RPS3,4,5 and...

    CMM fixture design help needed

OK, so I think I should use one pin in the B datum hole, another pin in the C datum slot hole and 4 Z supports under 4 A datums and clamp the part only on 3 of them, otherwise the part might bend. Maybe I should remove the pins after clamping, I will discuss this with customer. KENAT, I am new...

    CMM fixture design help needed

Thanks a lot for your answers. Yes, I understand GD&T. So, if the primary datum plane is granite surface, the fixture must be very accurate so that the part`s Z direction and the CMM`s Z direction will be the same. The part to be measured is similar to this one: The A reference is bottom...

    CMM fixture design help needed

Hello, I am a mechanical designer used to design welding fixtures and visual inspection fixtures but for the first time I am asked to design a fixture for a subframe part to be measured in a Coordinate Measurement Machine(CMM).The CMM is Wenzel brand bridge-type granite CMM using Metrosoft...
