PC pumps for salt water and natural gas condensate alternatively

Hello All, I was wondering if i need to flow salt water and natural gas condensate (oil) alternativley from the progressing cavity pump, what are the basic design criteria i need to worry about besides NPSHa? 1) I have made sure that i have at least 2ft more NPSHa compared to NPSHr for the...

    NPSH calculation consideration

If we have 50 psi seperator with gas, water and natural gas condensate(oil), the gas seperates and goes out from the seperator from top. The water and liquid comes out from the bottom. If i need to transfer liquid from the seperator to 200 miles far to the tank, then i need pump to transfer the...

Pulsation stabilizer for progressive cavity pump.

I thought the same thing. The progressive cavity pumps are almost pulsationless. However, Desgin review team does not know much about the progressive cavity pumps. I was trying to double check. Thank you all for your help.

Pulsation stabilizer for progressive cavity pump.

How do we size the pulsation stabilizer for progressive cavity pump? When i contacted vendor they ask me for the bore and stroke information. It is PD pump but does not have piston. Sorry if this is the dumb question but i am recently graduated, new hire engineeer.

Is it a good idea to relieve in a atmospheric tank?

tickle, I am not sure why they did not install valves that good for 1000 psig. I think because pressure won't get to 100 psig unless you do not have choke nipple. however there is a choke nipple which should reduce our pressure from 1000 psig to very less. and the dump valves are not 100% in...

    PSV crtical vs. sub sonic

I have attached my little sketch. How about when seperator is out of liquid and the water and oil line flowing dry? how do i size PSV for that case? http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=bc77b046-2db8-4454-9426-9306d13f6fab&file=question.png

Is it a good idea to relieve in a atmospheric tank?

I have attached my little sketch. I am also thinking about what if all the liquid are sent to tanks and pipeline is flowing dry. now you have gas going into the tanl? what will happen in this case?

Is it a good idea to relieve in a atmospheric tank?

Hello, PSV set at 313 psig Is it a good idea to relief this PSV into a atmospheric closed water tank? I heard that presure will convert into velocity and turbulenace when it exit from the tailpipe of PSV into a 180 barrel water tank. Thank you!

    PSV crtical vs. sub sonic

Hello all, I am recent graduate engineer. I am currently working on the PSV sizing project. I want to understand between the crtical vs. subsonic flow calculation while sizing PSV. When you have critical flow or sub-sonic flow, what is actually hapening? Do i have to worry about critical...
