Hi All,
Looking through the forums this questions has been asked before, but there does not seem to be any conclusions upon it.
I am using 'antype' to restart analysis for every load step. In doing so, a .rnnn file (restart file) is written and will reach a maximum of 999.rnnn and then stop...
Hi All,
Need some guidance please. I am setting up a PRV leak tightness test and I am following the BS 6759-3 seat leakage test set-up (similar to API 527 test). Can someone please advice me where I can get a pre-made PRV outlet cover with the tube for bubble measurement already attached...
All,
It's ok I have managed to work out the issue.
It turns out that the spring was being deflected to much and as a consequence the velocity that part B was moving at was too high, hence why ANSYS could not converge. Therefore slow movements allow better convergence.

Hi Mat,
The only way I know to do this is through APDL commands. In workbench when you add a command script you can set what step you wish to see the script occur at via the 'Details' menu.
Hope this helps,

Hi,
To be able to get a stress stain graph you will have top create a custom graph. See this link: http://www.padtinc.com/blog/the-focus/making-charts-and-tables-in-ansys-mechanical
In regards to the compressive strength, you can get the equivalent stess vs. time and then from this you can...
Hi All,
I am a little stuck and require some guidance. Let me set the scene. I have two 2D structural axisymmetric analysis with 2 parts (one fixed (Part A) and the other held down via a spring (Part B)) which are in contact (frictionless), and I am modelling a cyclic loading to allow one of...
Here is where i have got to.
So after each command step, i get this error:
***** ANSYS RESULTS INTERPRETATION (POST1) *****
SORT ON ITEM=CONT COMPONENT=FPRS ORDER= 0 KABS= 0 NMAX= 3125
*** WARNING *** CP = 10.920 TIME= 15:48:18
The requested...
Ok, so I omitted the script to allow the program to solve and found it calls the results file 'file.rst'. Yet workbench calls the file 'Job Name: file0'. So maybe this means I need to access some temporary file it writing the results too?
Yeah the FPRS command is valid.
Hello,
I am currently running a 12 step static structural problem. I want to be able to solve the first load step, go into POST1 and retrieve an X-location (for Fluid Pressure Penetration) then apply that as a set parameter for the next load step and repeat until complete. I am using the...
Hello!
I am new to this site so go easy on me. [peace]
So, to the problem I am facing. Within workbench I have specified a pressure to be applied based on a table (time versus pressure) on a line. Now what I want to do is call upon the pressure related to the time which the calculations are...
