I don't know how to move. Can you read this thread and comment:

Thanks
So, I just started using CREO and used the detail view callout tool. I was surprised that the circle drawn was solid. I asked a colleague, but we couldn't figure out how to change this. So, I went to SolidWorks to give it a go. No, SW is solid as well. You can change the line style - though it...
Hello. I started using SW Flow Sim Analysis - Electronics recently for PCB thermal studies. I understand that simplification is the name of the game for analysis. In SW Flow you can categorize PCBs using their tools - specifying # of dielectric layers - copper weights - etc... You can add 2-R...
I'm new to SolidWorks Flow Sim - Circuit Analysis. I'm setting up the modal prior to run. I'm creating thermal joints to mimic TIM material. I managed to insert one joint without issue. Now any time I setup up a joint - enter a value for Heat Transfer Coefficient I get this error message -...
3D someone else proposed you solution on the CREO forums, but they even went so far to state that the datum plane CANNOT reference the surface for Datum because the same issue presents itself - if for whatever reason the surface is modified the reference for the Datum plane will fail. I will...
3D this is something I will look into as a solution. I still think a better solution can be implemented. You can click on any chain ordinate Dim and redefine - just add 0-0 as well.
I haven't looked into this - but you say when you start your detailing things never change. I have a different...
Applying ordinates in the drawing - not at part level. Yes, I understand at model level and bringing them into the drawing is the preferred way. The link you posted from PTC forums is a workaround if you lose a reference - this happens often in CREO. So yeah, it would be nice to reassign - or...
I was hoping someone would answer this question:
- Can you reassign 0-0 in CREO 10 after initially placed?
I came into my new workplace using CREO 7. I started an ordinate dim chain using two surfaces. I then realized I mistakenly selected the incorrect 0-0 lines to start my chain. I used NX...

Thanks that's the answer I needed. I search high and low - within SW Help and online. Straight forward enough, and exactly how I expected this too work.
Ctopher - that is exactly what I did - created my own material and fudged density.
Thanks for the help Team.
I ended up fudging density knowing the final mass of the part. Still not intuitive. I should be able to right click and assign a weight to any component.
Oh BTW I'm on SW 2023 SP3.0
I created a custom material - I can fiddle with density to achieve a mass of this block - but it's cumbersome. If the dimensions of the block change - the mass will change - and I will have to fiddle with density again and again. I just want to type in a mass.
So I modeled a block and want to add this to an assembly. This block represents a very complex system so I just want to represent the overall height/width & depth of the system. I know the weight of the complex system and I would like to "fudge" or apply this weight to this block. How do I do...
I added a downward force equally among all attachment points representing the total weight of the system. I do see there is a distributed mass load so maybe that's more appropriate. I'm rerunning as I type. I'm also going to modal a black box - attach it to frame - give it a given mass - but...
BTW in one scenario I added all three attachment surfaces in the blue box - and the floor of the fixture as target. The floor is fixed using a constraint. I do not remember results, but I may rerun this scenario. Again, the floor is fixed during sim.
FEA Way
Yes, black box is not in SIM - way too complex to mesh. The goal is improving the mounting structure so that it won't contribute to the black box during Vib testing.
Weird thing FEA Way - if I add loads to the mounting holes to mimic weight of black box - I cannot use an iterative...
I always find these - attach a sketch requests kind of funny. I tried my best to mimic my setup. I work in an industry that protects IP so no CAD screenshots on my end.
If you open the jpeg you will see black box (item being suspended within a frame - somewhat semi-rigid) - RED rectangles -...
FEA way,
This seems appropriate for let's say a circular rod that spans two surfaces. I have three surfaces - all tied together via an object fastened to frame. Should I be using
Links??? I guess I could use a Fixed - Fixture for all three surfaces - but I do not believe this to be accurate...
I'm using SW Sim Pro and trying to run a modal analysis of a hanging frame structure. There are 3 faces that I would like to connect using a Rigid Connector because a semi rigid object will be attached to these faces using fasteners. When I enter into the Connectors - Rigid Connection setup...
I got a response on SW Forum.
You select the existing Body - click edit and then select new STEP File. This should have been easy to figure out - I guess I wasn't thinking this was the way to update the body within a part. Now I know.
This still begs a question: how do you add new STEP files...
