I have a separate bit of software that generates an empty part file, and also copies the part name to the clipboard.
Because the empty part has 'TBC' as it's name in the part attributes table I wish to record a journal that updates this attribute to whatever is saved in the clipboard at the...
As per the title, can I somewhere set the default or start layer for my new models? Mine seems to default to 61 for some reason and I can't find out where to change it. I'm sick of having to set it manually each time.
I've got it set to entire assembly, but when I select the second axis the section just jumps to it exclusively rather than including it with the first axis...
As per title I wish to create a section between two parallel shafts in the assembly mode but can't seem to achieve it simply (by clicking each axis), instead I need to create planes manually first which seems extremely inefficient.
Cheers.
NX 11 crashed, I had to force restart of my computer.
Before NX would load in about 5 seconds, now after the crash it takes several minutes to load and then everything is extremely sluggish.
Any ideas?
I have a gear ratio, 21/50, 2.5 module, 30 degree helix, 35mm wide gears.
When I model these in 3D and align the teeth on one side of the gear, they are then mismatched on the other side. Both gears are the same width and same helix angle. Do I need to adjust the helix angle when I have...
I mentioned I played around with the GRIP code, it doesn't produce anything usable for 45 degree pressure angles.
Tried the China toolkit but I don't have the license.
I was kinda hoping I wouldn't have to construct something from first principles. I was looking for something I can input teeth number, pitch, pressure angle and boom, a spline.
As per the title, is there an easy way to generate an involute (ANSI) spline for NX? I have played around with the gear grip code and I am not getting very food results for 45 degree splines. I have also tried the MITCalc spline program but it doesn't give the option for changing the spline type...
Not sure how it fixed it but it did. I saw it mentioned off hand in another thread and thought it wouldn't hurt to try and it seems to have fixed the problem.
I've recently installed NX11 on my laptop. Everything works fine, however I can't rotate or pan the model using the middle mouse button. I've gone out and bought a new mouse and that still doesn't solve it. NX acknowledges MB2 is pressed as it shows two concentric orange circles, however it does...
