    API 650 Nozzle Elevation Requirents

IFR From my understanding the table refers to low or regular type reinforced nozzles. What I'm asking is what about unreinforced nozzles <= 2", do they have a minimum elevation centerline? From my understanding Figure 5.6 provides minimum weld spacing from the tank bottom to the bottom toe of...

    API 650 Nozzle Elevation Requirents

With regard to the required nozzle dimensions shown on Table 5.6A/B, would it be fair to say that the table doesn't actually provide a Minimum Distance from Bottom of Tank to Center o Nozzle value for small-bore nozzles? i.e.; less than 2" NPS. From my understanding columns 8 and 9 provide...

What type of roof is this?

IFR, You are correct, there is certainly a annular pontoon underneath the top deck on the outer section of the roof. I am certain when I reach the center plates though, I am standing directly over the product. I'm assuming this was the need for the center pontoon.

    External Settlement Surveys

I was wondering if anyone had experience performing external settlement surveys on in-service storage tanks. I see a lot of 3rd party inspection companies tend to incorporate settlement surveys in their external visual inspection reports. I know API 653 has minimum required points in accordance...

What type of roof is this?

The sleeves are for the floating roof legs which were in the high position when this picture was taken. I believe it has to do with the local jurisdiction emission guidelines. Also , could you elaborate on what W.A.G. means?

What type of roof is this?

Could anyone clarify what type of roof this is? Yes, it is an external floating roof. It has pontoon compartments on the outer rim and the center compartment that protrudes upward. https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=2b291db8-40f6-4d25-a4c8-a75122e547ad&file=external_floating_roof.jpg

Localized area of concern on shell

HT and IFR Thanks for the replies as well as everyone else. After doing some research, I am almost positive it had an anti-rotation angle iron removed at some point. The picture from the inside was taken from the opposite side of the tank on the gouger's platform.

Localized area of concern on shell

So one of our maintanance personnel noticed coating failure in a straight localized vertical line initiating from the top shell course down to the second(shell course above the bottom one. We decided to further investigate and realized the ID of the tank displayed an affected area, but we don't...

API 570 T-MIN and MAWP with no pipe information

I am currently working as an API pipe inspector on a loading dock. A majority of the piping is overwater. That being said besides the design pressure and operating temperature, the customer has absolutely no previous history on the piping. Therefore, I will calculate the MAWP and T-Min per API...
