3DDave,
Thanks for your suggestions! The problem was with the cloud drive that I was using to open the project. Once I had copied the project folder to my disk drive the problem went away. Thanks again for the nudge in the right direction!
It's interesting because I had this same version installed on my virtual machine on both Win 10 X64 and Win 7 x64 and did not see this error. Only when I installed it on my host machine is when I started to see these problems. Also, during the installation of ETAP on the host machine I saw an...
Good Day,
I installed ETAP v.19.0.1 on Windows 10 X64 and could not run any simulations. I'm seeing an error with crystal reports, "calculation aborted because of failure preparing crystal report". Does anyone know why I am seeing this error and how to fix it?
Well, the reason for my quest with Etap is because the Motor Start - Dynamic Analysis module in CYME does not work properly. In the load characteristics options, my electrical torque curve is below the mechanical load torque, hence motor cannot start. I tried contacting CYME support to no avail...
davidbeach,
I consider that fraud then from Etap's side. If they're selling modules that don't perform the way advertised then it is fraud.
From my understanding, I would need to completely re-draw the entire model I have in CYME but in Etap to have them match. That is how I was supposed to...
davidbeach,
I did not understand what you mean. Was your response alluding to using only one type of software?
My intent is to model a motor in Etap because CYME's Motor Start - Dynamic Analysis module does not provide the results I'm expecting. I need to export all of the conductors and the...
Hello engineers!
I'm looking for help with importing a CYME model into Etap. On Etap's official website it mentions the ability to do this but I was not able to figure out how. Below is the image from Etap's official website that shows this. Please help me figure out how to do this.
waross,
So, your four wire (A, B, C + Neutral) delta connection will also exhibit the virtual transformer and real transformer concept? For any single phase load we connect to a delta transformer we will always have this occurrence as long as the load is unbalanced? In other words, what are...
waross
Now I'm a little confused again. In your earlier post you wrote: 'An open delta connection in North America develops three phase power with only two transformers. The two real transformers together form a virtual transformer in place of the missing third transformer.' I have been...
Hi waross,
Thank you a million for your response. With your explanation it became clearer to me.
In my understanding this only applies when we have removed one of the phase transformers from the delta-delta three phase transformer bank.
Another question I have is whether this virtual...
davidbeach,
First of all, I used pf = 1 as an example. Let's say that our three phase delta-delta transformer has Phases B and C unloaded and only phase A is connected to the 10 fans. That way, we connect the 120VAC, single phase fans between Line A and ground while the other two phases are...
Good Day,
My question is in regards to connecting an unbalanced load, single phase, 120VAC (10 fans) to a delta-delta transformer. Load is 8.3A rated current at 120VAC. Once we connect these 10 fans to the transformer we have phases B and C broken. Why is it that there will be a virtual and a...
