I figured out that if I add a "user entry" in the middle of my macro that prompts you to select the item in your assembly navigator then it works. I think I will have to have it this way so that it will work with any drawing . The object's number in my assembly navigator will be different...

For future reference, which documentation are you referring to? I searched this forum and several others trying to find this answer before posting the question.
I also tried making a single cell tabular note and then putting the syntax for sheet scale in the cell. But the second I put that syntax in the cell, NX will no longer let me put that tabular note into a custom symbol.
