Hi
Does anyone familiar with nitrile rubber NBR, ASTM SB-515-Z standard. Really appreciate if someone could advice me on this.
Thanks.

How was the blank material being put inside the mould? Maybe if you can make the blank thick could help this issue. Bumping 5 time, Gap 1.5.

Hi,
Hardness only can be improve by the polymer type or increase in filler addition. Through process only to improve the dispersion of the material. However if you apply oven on the compound after have been molded/extruded, the hardness increase a bit and the dimension also change.

We are designing an O-Ring using FKM hardness 65shA.
However we have crack issue after molded.
From theory to be known that FKM should be hard, but from our rheometer slab, the part brittle and crack after cure.
This O-Ring to be use for piston in air compressor but the test fail out due to the...
We are having and external body surveillance audit for our IATF 16949 certification.
During the audit they issue out that the FMEA format already change.
The one that we do referring to the 4th edition FMEA are invalid.
They said that email being given out about this update on the 3rd June this...
I know it sound unbelievable but that what happen.
Even the molded part didn't cure during the production run.
The compression mold was use for silicone only but still didn't cure.
We store the silicone
>inside air conditioner room
>control temp 20`30 Celsius.
>Inside its own box

Our Customer are demanding to use their Platinum Cure Silicone rubber for their part.
However after few days the rheometer MH for the platinum cured silicone decreases.
Until 3 month the rheometer MH just flat and the part doesn't cured at all.
Because of that I made development by put...
Hi, Apparently my customer wanted hardness button for our liquid silicone part.
After hot press the silicone into the hardness button compression mold for 170C x 18 minute,
the part cure inside but the outer surface was sticky.Even the side trim have cracks.
How does you guys make hardness...
Well I did try to find this 3M 1300, a bit hard to find in my area.
Will try to search the scotch grip 847 instead.
The rubber cement thing, is this the same rubber cement to repair Tyre tube if leaking?
Is it sheet? Cause your picture doesn't look like one.
I suggest if it was by compression molding process. Apply primer to the steel. Mold together with the rubber.
Once the rubber already cured during compression process, there was no term of over compression. Theoretically speaking the bonding have been made and cannot make the part deform. Over compression doesn't effect the rubber, it effect the machine lifespan only.
Hi Everyone,
I'm new here.
Glad to know Engineers have this platform to share our tips and thought.
Currently we are making NBR Sponge seal for our customer.
The NBR sponge made from extrusion then cut into specific length.
However we have problem during joint process.
We try to use the super...
