Rubber Compound Hardness 1

Can we improve rubber compound hardness by process?
In our case single pass method in kneader mixing produces good hardness properties
but in case of 2 pass method(CMB mixing in kneader mixer and curatives added in mill mixing stage) hardness lies only in the lower specification.

Hi,
Hardness only can be improve by the polymer type or increase in filler addition. Through process only to improve the dispersion of the material. However if you apply oven on the compound after have been molded/extruded, the hardness increase a bit and the dimension also change.

The quickest way to increase the hardness of a rubber compound is to either increase the filler content or reduce the softener (oil) content or both.
