Can someone aid in my understanding how author dervied this equation?

I have a gut feeling the author is using complex vector geometry in the argand plane or in polar coordinates. I will think into it otherwise I am moving on. It will be bothersome for a bit.

Can someone aid in my understanding how author dervied this equation?

Its the yellow equation that I can, not derive I know how that is derived. Anyway shall I assume an error on account of author?

Can someone aid in my understanding how author dervied this equation?

To answer the question of first poster. This is the equation it comes from originally. I was thinking that if -j rotated the complex clockwise by 0.5pi vectorialy but even then the components don't add up since j is a necessary coefficient in de moviere theorem! Another issue is getting rid of...

Can someone aid in my understanding how author dervied this equation?

The highlighted equation. I just can, not think of a way to decompose the equation into getting A and B without getting rid of j. Any ideas?

Need an intuition of why i would need Discrete Fourier Transform for displacement waves

When I was writing my report I thought to myself why would my supervisor want me to perform dft on wave against time data. The model for my analysis is a simple beam subject to axial loading and fixed at point node. All other surfaces apart from loading surface are supported by rollers. I have...

Queries about abaqus command line and steps with respect to load and unload situation

Thanks for your help. I am using two steps as i am running short on time on my disso and i can't be bother waiting days more for results to come again. Thanks anyway

Queries about abaqus command line and steps with respect to load and unload situation

Greetings, a) Command line: When I try to enter "abaqus job=Triangular_fibre suspend" into command line in Abaqus CAE, it gives a syntax error. When I try the same command in cmd or abaqus command the error says that it could, not determine the client ID of the job request albeit after...

Introductory and easy book on wave propagation in solids

Hi, I'm trying to see the effect of indentation on wave propagation through an elastic medium as shown in the figure. So i'm kind of a noob on this subject so would like an introductory book of some sort to study what happens on those particular positions where the indenations are.

Getting post-processing results from History Output afterwards

Thanks guys. That parallel processing has increased the speed significantly!

Getting post-processing results from History Output afterwards

Can i use restart capability to redefine history output without losing the data for all the step? Also, my analysis is too slow. My last analysis took 3-4 hours but this time is taking days? Any suggestions on this?

Getting post-processing results from History Output afterwards

Hello friends, I have got my results from Abaqus after nearly three days however I had only requested stress variables for a set and not strain one's before running the simulation. Now that the simulation is complete i realized i need more variables but does that mean I need to re-run Abaqus...

Problem in creating "distance against s22 plot" of a composite beam using history output

Thanks FEA for your help I have reduced my complexity with your advice and its more reliable now.

Problem in creating "distance against s22 plot" of a composite beam using history output

FEA way, I have solved the problem with element sets instead of nodal sets, and its more convenient that way. However, before I depart are you implying the reaction force in the plot is nonsensical?

Problem in creating "distance against s22 plot" of a composite beam using history output

Greetings, I'm doing wave propagation analysis of a beam by applying a harmonic load at one end of the beam whilst holding it fixed against a wall (cantilever beam) with rolling supports applied at surfaces other than loading surface. The image illustrates my project: In doing so, I'm...
