I'm trying to see the effect of indentation on wave propagation through an elastic medium as shown in the figure.
So i'm kind of a noob on this subject so would like an introductory book of some sort to study what happens on those particular positions where the indenations are.
Can i use restart capability to redefine history output without losing the data for all the step?
Also, my analysis is too slow. My last analysis took 3-4 hours but this time is taking days? Any suggestions on this?

FEA way, I have solved the problem with element sets instead of nodal sets, and its more convenient that way. However, before I depart are you implying the reaction force in the plot is nonsensical?
