    Hybrid elements

Hi everyone, I have a question related to the stress and strain output variables for hybrid elements; Do stress and strain output variables differ for hybrid elements compared to non-hybrid elements, or are these output variables just calculated in a slightly different way but with the exact...

    Deviatoric strain output

Thank you for your answer. I am struggling with implementing that formula in the field ouput 'formula line'. I cannot simply put the identity matrix 'I' in there, so then how to substract the hydrostatic part from the whole strain tensor?

    Deviatoric strain output

Hi guys, I am facing the following problem: I want to obtain the maximum value of deviatoric strain at each integration point during a certain step in my simulation. Is this possible without the usage of any subroutine (I was thinking about output from fields/output from frames)? If so, could...

Another question about 'Creating Field Output by Operating on Frames'

Change the Avg% to either 0% or 100% does not alter the huge difference between the original XY-data and the 'output from frames data', so I really don't know how to explain that difference. Just for my confirmation: the output in integration points is the most reliable output possible right?

Another question about 'Creating Field Output by Operating on Frames'

Hi FEA way, could you explain how that is possible and which one (the normal XY data or the 'output from frames' data) is likely to be more reliable? I do not really understand why there could be averaging differences since I am looking in the exact same node. thanks in advance! kind regards, BW

Another question about 'Creating Field Output by Operating on Frames'

I looked into the documentation already and indeed could not find anything useful about it. Especially the 'highest value' of max. principal strain in my other simulations seems strange, because it is higher than the strains that would occur in that particular node during the simulation when...

Another question about 'Creating Field Output by Operating on Frames'

Thanks for your response. The problem is that the 'minimum values' I obtain with the 'field output from frames' option are higher than 0. See attached picture. Another simulation, where I requested the 'maximum values' with the 'field output from frames' option, also gives me values which are...

Another question about 'Creating Field Output by Operating on Frames'

To comment on this, also the highest value for max. principal strain that I find in the newly created output variable is higher than the highest value that I can find when I skip through all the frames manually. Anyone with suggestions or explanations?

Another question about 'Creating Field Output by Operating on Frames'

Hi Guys, Yesterday I asked a question about the 'operating on frames' output option. This option would give me the highest value of a particular output variable somewhere during the simulation for each integration point. This all seemed to work the way I expected it to work, but now that I want...

Creating field output by operating on frames

Thanks alot for your quick response! I think, however, that the information about the time/frame where the maximum value appeared is not lost, since automatically the variable 'outputVariable_Index' is created, which gives you the frame for each integration point where the highest value happened.

Creating field output by operating on frames

Hi All, I think the 'Creating field output by operating on frames' option in Abaqus, especially the 'maximum values over specified frames', might be useful for me. However, I am not sure if i do understand this function correctly. As I interpret it from the manual, it gives me the highest...
