I have a horizontal vessel supported with saddles, one is fixed and the other is sliding saddle.
What should be foundation load values as per the zick analysis as per the uploaded fig?
I believe that the dead, hydrotest, operation values will be 1/2th of empty, hyrotest and operating weights...

Actually in the datasheet it is written as acceleration impact factor axial, lateral and longitudinal and so on
But for seismic design, i have chosen G loading , and the input to be entered are axial, lateral and longitudinal, Gy, Gx, Gz. Also the value ranges are from 0 to 0.4 max...

Thanks to all the persons for replying to the posts and contributing their precious time. I am very new to the engg tips as well as BPVC , I dont know to thank individually by selecting...
Acceleration impact factor to be considered for transportation design
Axial=1.5 , Lateral= 1.5, Vertical=2.0
I have considered G loading in PV Elite to input these values as Longitudinal(Gx) Lateral(Gy), Vertical(Gz). But I found that these values ranges from 0 to 0.4 from...
I have a vertical vessel of 5000mm ID , whose top end is elliptical head and bottom head is conical, with cylindrical shell attached in between. The weight of the vessel is 18tonnes. What will be the maximum thickness of the lifting lug ?
Does ASME follow any standard, which limits the thickness of hub. If yes, please guide me
Also, is there relation between the shell thickness and hub thickness as per ASME or any general suggestion
The half apex angle is 54 degree > 30deg, How to reinforce the large end of cone?
Conical bottom head failed, showing the large end of the cone is overstressed.
How to find the solution to this problem
