    Does UG-84(h)(2)(b)

Thanks for the clarification DVWE. I really appreciate that.

    Does UG-84(h)(2)(b)

Thanks DVWE for your opinion. Test coupon is good to denote both plates and pipes. But does Test Plate entirely mean "Plate Test coupon"?

    Does UG-84(h)(2)(b)

Thanks David. The statement that confuses me is the quotation UG-84(h)(2) "The test plate material shall satisfy all of the following requirements". The wording "Test Plates", creates all the confusions in my mind.

    Does UG-84(h)(2)(b)

David that means both pipe and plate should be in the same heat treated condition as that of Procedure Qualification?

    Does UG-84(h)(2)(b)

    Thanks GD for the insight

    Does UG-84(h)(2)(b)

Does UG-84(h)(2)(b) only applicable only to plate material not for pipe?.

impact temperature reductions per Table UG84.2

So UG-84(h)(5) statement says welding procedure shall be qualified by testing sperate sets of impact test specimens removed from weld metal and heat affected zone . Then how can I use a full specimen? Please explain When sperate sets of imppact specimens are used for individual process then how...

impact temperature reductions per Table UG84.2

So the better option is to weld each process in a separte test coupon and impact test individually.

impact temperature reductions per Table UG84.2

But as per UG-84(h)(5)multiple process welding procedure states separate sets of impact test specimen required from each process.

impact temperature reductions per Table UG84.2

Sorry, CVN specimen for gtaw weld metal 3.3x 10mm.

impact temperature reductions per Table UG84.2

Hi experts i just want to know what will be the impact temperature reductions per Table UG84.2 (1) Base material thickness is 9.27mm. (2) Deposited weld metal thickness - GTAW (4mm) & MAW(5.27mm) (3) MDMT temp. is -31degree Celsius. In my opinion it will be -50 degree C. is it correct for...

Qualifying Two Test Processes on One Plate

Subject: Qualifying Two Test Processes on One Plate Code Edition: D1.1:2006 Code Provision: Tables 4.2 and 4.11 AWS Log: D1.1-06-I18b Inquiry: (1) Can I qualify two welding processes on one test plate? (2) Do I use the deposited weld metal thickness for each weld process to establish the range...

    WPS base metal thickness

Thank you David. I am little bit confused. So the base metal thickness qualified by GTAW alone is 5 to 32 .

    WPS base metal thickness

So when preparing single process WPS from a multi process PQR the deposited weld metal thickness by each process individually considered to determines the base metal thickness? Here, for GTAW the Base metal thickness for gtaw wps is -5 to 16mm not 5mm to 32mm? Can we use such a WPS to make weld...

    WPS base metal thickness

Do you have any interpretations regarding the same?

    WPS base metal thickness

Hello experts pls answer this question, A PQR was qualified as per ASME SEC IX with two process, GTAW and SMAW with weld metal deposit thickness (t) of 8 mm each in a 16mm base metal thickness (T) of plate. What will be the BASE METAL THICKNESS range T (not deposited weld metal thickness) if a...

    WPS Parameter limits

Dear experts pls clarify my doubts, As per asme sec 9 position is not an essential variable for WPS . Let consider I have a pqr qualified in 1G position as per code I can use that WPS for Vertical position welding but by doing so how can I choose the parameters correctly. The current range...
