Does UG-84(h)(2)(b) only applicable only to plate material not for pipe?.

My take is the following:
UG-84(h)is about impact test requirement for Welding Procedure Qualification for pressure vessels of welded construction. Hence, it talks about test plates.
If you are making a vessel out of pipe, refer to the applicable product form procedure qualification by the product specification set by rule 84(e). For example: for Pipe follow ASTM A333 impact test rules.

David that means both pipe and plate should be in the same heat treated condition as that of Procedure Qualification?

Thanks David.
The statement that confuses me is the quotation UG-84(h)(2)
"The test plate material shall satisfy all of the following requirements".

The wording "Test Plates", creates all the confusions in my mind.

See definitions, ASME Section IX, QG-109, "Test Coupon"

The devil is in the details; she also wears prada.

Thanks DVWE for your opinion.
Test coupon is good to denote both plates and pipes.
But does Test Plate entirely mean "Plate Test coupon"?

My opinion, no, it does not. "Test Plates", as used in Section XIII, means the same thing as "Test Coupon", as used in Section IX. Both terms mean the same thing, but "Test Coupon" is more accurate.

Section XIII needs to be corrected and aligned for consistency.

But certainly, the term "Test Plate" means either plate, pipe, tube, etc.

Thanks for the clarification DVWE. I really appreciate that.
