Dear experts, we plan to ship cryogenic liquid ethylene using Isotank. From the information in the internet, there is a maximum holding time specified to each liquid before the tank pressure reaches the isotank PSV setting. Can anyone share the isotank the holding time calculations?
Many thanks
mcmg, suggest you review the relief study for each PSV connected to the HF.
Other cases (e.g. blocked outlet) may give a smaller relief load than the fire case. Even though it is not the governing case, potential overpressure from such event is possible and should be mitigated as well.
We plan to transfer ethylene liquid (~50 t/hr,-104 degC) from the plant using piping over a distance of ~7 km into an ethylene tank. By simulation, we expect the ethylene liquid temperature to rise, mainly due to heat gain from ambient. Our ambient temperature is 35 degC year round.
