Resume prevously terminatet simulation in Abaqus

Dear Forum, recently one of my very long (400+ Hour) Simulation was terminated automatically by a server. I was wondering, if there was any way to resume the last calculated step after termination, or if I would only have to restart it. Thank you in advance!

Transient Heat tTransfer - optimal solution settings

Dear Forum, I am currently working on a very large heat transfer analysis, which deals with factors like radiation and self-heating elements. Due to its complexity, it sometimes takes a very long amount of time to produce a solution. Therefore, I would love to hear some opinions from you guys...

Heat Transfer Analysis - Some noods seem to have an inadequate temperature

Dear Forum, In my heat transfer analysis of a rather large model there are nodes, that seem to go down to very low temperatures (around -230°C), although everything in the model is 35°C and above, just like the environment. What could be the issue?

Optimization of a Transient Heat Transfer Analysis

Also, do you think potentially switching to iterative solution method would help resolve the problem?

Optimization of a Transient Heat Transfer Analysis

It seems that the reason is "Heat flux equilibrium not achieved within tolerance". It crashes midway after about half the simulation is complete due to too many attempts for an increment. I'm going to try to solve with quasi-newton technique now, with an increased temperature change per...

Optimization of a Transient Heat Transfer Analysis

Hello everyone, I am currently working on a complex heat transfer model which deals with some self-heating objects exchanging heat with each other. The analysis takes a very long period of time (on a server, much more powerful than my pc), and usually results in a crash somewhere midway through...

Changing heat flux rapidly causes the simulation to diverge

It seems to be caused by a too rapid change in Heat Flux The message is "HEAT FLUX EQUILIBRIUM NOT ACHIEVED WITHIN TOLERANCE." The issue is, I would have to change it to zero at some point throughout the simulation (to be exact, as soon as all the heat will be exhausted) Is there a way to...

Changing heat flux rapidly causes the simulation to diverge

Hello, I am currently working on a Subroutine, which would dynamically change the heat flux inside the material depending on the temperature. If I change the heat flux within 1 step from 5 to 0 (example values), it would crash. It works if I change it from 5 to 3 though. I'm pretty new to...

Using STATEV in HETVAL for an updating parameter each step

Hello! I am currently experiencing some difficulties defining a parameter being passed from step to step. I am using the HETVAL subroutine to define a self-heating material. However, I am trying to prevent any self heating after a certain total energy amount has been released (per each node)...

    HETVAL Subroutine compilation error

Yeah, it turned out to be an issue with the install folder in Abaqus, the simulation runs if started on a different machine. Thank you!

    HETVAL Subroutine compilation error

Dear Abaqus-Forum, I am using a HETVAL Subroutine for my model with a material, that is supposed to heat up on its own. for some reason the Simulation aborts, and the following error appears: Error in job Job: Problem during compilation - D:\Sim\uhetvalx.f This is my file...

I'll try that out, thank you!

Constraint pool exhausted- how can this be fixed

Currently, there is just general contact between those two faces. Sadly, I am not able to attach any Photographs of the model due to privacy reasons. It's a curved shell geometry, which lies on top of another shell. The thing that makes me question the cause of the error is the fact, that when I...

Constraint pool exhausted- how can this be fixed

Afterwards there are some max. penetration errors happening. This is the first warning message. I am guessing the penetration errors occur due to something being wrong initially with the contact, since I checked the exact node where the error is supposed to be, and it seemed perfectly fine, no...

Constraint pool exhausted- how can this be fixed

Hello everyone, I am currently working on a pretty big assembly model. Everything seems to run fine except for when I add the final few components to the assembly. Whenever I try to solve, it gives out the following warning: ***WARNING: EXHAUSTED THE CONTACT CONSTRAINT POOL. What does this...

Predefined Field in Shells vs. Solids issue

I have changed the number of integration points. All that's changed is the temperature the shells sink to, now it's at around 0.4 degrees. Here are the Initial conditions: ** Name: T0 Type: Temperature *Initial Conditions, type=TEMPERATURE TestSetAll, 10. The set includes all Nodes in the...

Predefined Field in Shells vs. Solids issue

For the sake of finding this issue, I tried deactivating all interactions. The weird behavior of shell elements remains the same, even when there are no interactions in the model. At the same time, solids would have probably had a similar issue, if interactions were to blame for the issue

Predefined Field in Shells vs. Solids issue

In the 0 Frame all the temperatures are 10. Right after that it drops in the shells..

Predefined Field in Shells vs. Solids issue

Sadly, I am not able to upload the input, since it contains some internal data. Do you have any other possible explanations for this issue?
