    SUCCESS! Apparently I accidentally clicked on this button. I have never used that feature, on purpose anyway. I had a coworker open my file to test it and he had the same issue. However, his part worked fine. He finally found that setting.

    Also, as a test, I deleted my block and created a new one with the same results. I even positioned it half into my vise model, it will not select any edge within the blocks. If I select the same edge just outside the block, it selects it perfectly.

    Yes, they are both designed within NX by an engineer, not myself. If I turn off my translucent block, I can select any edge with no issues. If I change the selection filter set to "edge", nothing highlights and becomes selectable inside or behind the block. Only items that are outside or in...
