Difference in experimental result and the analytical result from Abaqus

@FEA way I used find contact pair option to get the pairs and make sure the master and slave fulfil its requirements. Contact property is same for all surface with coefficient of friction 0.3.

Difference in experimental result and the analytical result from Abaqus

@SWComposites (Aerospace) I am using Non-Linear material model. And I am not concern about failure mode right now because I just need the behavior of the connection before the failure actually occur. According to my understanding its is not necessary to define the failure criteria for that...

Difference in experimental result and the analytical result from Abaqus

I fixed my upper and lower place on the left using a reference point and applied displacement load on the right of central plate using another reference point. I am using A325 bolt and A572-50 plates.

Difference in experimental result and the analytical result from Abaqus

Hi, I am modelling a bolted connection in double shear. Force is applied, on central plate, as a displacement using a BC at a reference point. And history output is also requested at this reference point for both the displacement and force(for the plot). When I compare my analytical result(force...

How to get pretension loss vs applied load plot in abaqus?

Hi, Thank you for your reply. I tried the first method as the preload is applied directly in the shaft middle section(pretension surface).I requested history output data for bolt load domain for RF1,RF2 and RF3.I thought the model should give values for RF3 since Preload is applied in the Z...

How to get pretension loss vs applied load plot in abaqus?

Hello everyone, I am dealing with an abaqus model of s double shear bolted(slip critical)connection ,with top and bottom plates fixed at the left end and external tensile load applied at middle plate at the right end.The model consist of pretensioned bolts with pretension force applied as the...
