    I think there was some issue with physical memory. I requested more cores than needed (which by extension got more RAM for me) and suddenly everything works. Abaqus should at least warn of this underlying problem for any hope of knowing it! For now, I assume that the RAM was the issue.

    @FEA Way, Yes I did, asked for 200 intervals with Time marks checked, no overlay. I have the restart files.
