[Abaqus Explicit] Unable to Restart simulation

Hello All,

I ran an abaqus explicit simulation with a single step, asking for 200 intervals of restart outputs.
I went ahead and created a copy of the cae file, changed model attributes to restart from 105th interval in step-1, added new steps, changed bc's and restarted the simulation giving same number of cores/domains in parallelization. However, it is not able to run.

It passes "Check data" but fails once it tries to run.
Error: "Abaqus/Explicit Analysis exited with an error: See the status file if any exists"
I checked the data, status, msg files but none of them specify any errors. How can I debug this issue?

Thanks!

Do you have restart files from the first analysis ? You need to make a restart request (Output —> Restart Requests) before you run it.

@FEA Way, Yes I did, asked for 200 intervals with Time marks checked, no overlay. I have the restart files.

I think there was some issue with physical memory. I requested more cores than needed (which by extension got more RAM for me) and suddenly everything works.

Abaqus should at least warn of this underlying problem for any hope of knowing it! For now, I assume that the RAM was the issue.
