Hi
I have an assembly where there are some assembly holes, I mean an hole that is made directly inside the .catProduct because it passes through different parts of that assembly. Basically when you do an assembly feature, an icon appears at the bottom of the feature tree called "Assembly...
Solidworks sure is user friendly even if it isn't great for drawing. The great problem is stability it really is not the best for managing large assemblies.
I would suggest you to use the 2022 ( or 2021 ) version where they finaly eneble the use of the GPU discrete graphics card to compute the...
No, he says that I should send my big assemblies to Dassault which I cannot do for my company restrictions policy.
The strange thing is that when I open others subassemblies the GPU works all the time and its use go always at high values inside task manager. WHen I start open the big...
Ok I have made some progress.
I have contacted Dassault reseller, he confirmed me that the GPU support has been introduced in 2019 so until then it was all computed by 1 core of the CPU and it was a lot of trouble. Anyway I have managed to finally enable GPU acceleration, and actually when it...
I think the problem is pretty simple...solidworks doesn't utilize the GPU acceleration, Catia V5 R29 does.
I can open a very big assembly made of .stp file ( so not native .cat files) with Catia and have no problems at all for what about the performance of the 3D moving, the same big .stp...
I have this exactly option signed. Otherwise the alternative is to select OpenGL engine but it doesn't work any better. Discrete GPU isn't used as is showed inside task manager indeed it is almost unusable.
Yes I have exactly this scenario I have a mobile workstation with 2 monitors connected...
Well I have red many thing about performance on solidworks and basically the answear is always bad news. I have tried to eneble openGL settings to use GPU acceleration like descripted here:
https://develop3d.com/hardware/solidworks-2019-3d-cad-workstations-hardware-gpus-cpu/
but this...
Hi
I have solved one of the problem, basically there was this option enable called 3D interconnect as it explained here: https://www.innova-systems.co.uk/featureworks-missing-cant-edit-step-files/ basically if you import a step assembly file inside Solidworks and then you save the assembly in...
Hi there
I'm actually migrating my big assembly at work from CATIA V5 R29 to SolidWorks 2021. I have some questions about solidworks:
I have a mobile workstation with an intel core i7 10750H, 32 GB or ram, SSD and an NVIDIA Quadro T2000 so the pc is definitly capable of running it.
1) The...
The other option is 1.6 but i don't think it is a matter of file extension option, I would guess that this is about how the PDF creator printer "see" the text when it generate the pdf file.
Hi
I have seen that when I export a 2D drawing in PDF format is not possbile to select the text in the exported pdf file. This happen both by saving the pdf file directly with Catia or with pdfcreator virtual printer. Anyone know how to have the text selectable?
Thanks.
I have run CatDUA, it has found out 1500 errors and it has corrected them anyway I still have some situations when it takes a lot of time loading, for example I have run an inertia measure and it stays 1 hour and half before complete the process.
Hi
Is anyone already using Catia v5 R31 ? I?m currently on R29 and I'm wondering if it could be worth to move to R31...is it working better? Actually I have problemi with loading time with large assemblies...
My Catia version is R29 Service pack 5 hotfix 6, the GPU driver aren't old ..anyway it's not a problem related to the movement of the solid model, it happens when it updated the views, when it pass from the scene module to the assembly environment or if I swtich between different assemblies...
Hi
I have to work with a medium size assembley ( in terms of parts and products ) and it happen that Catia get stuck loading for 1 hour when I exit from the scene creation environment.
My PC is an HP zbook with ssd, 16 gb of ram ( that anyway doesn't get full occupied), professional graphics...
