Hi Folks,
We have a well that has liquid loaded, that is foamed and eventually on the 6th attempt will flow. Except recently we cannot get the well on. The process is to open the choke sharply to 100% with a CITHP pressure of 80bar, the well will produce some gas, but drop off after 20min...
Tripped on the export cooler d/s of compressor. Another contributing factor was the slight fouling on one of the cooler exchangers. Higher sea water temps and lack of hypo dosing does not help. Going to close one of the coolers and start another sea water lift pump. Might help who knows?
Hi thanks for the reply. Yes centrifugal. We were doing deluge testing and the cooling on the pipes and compressor started to increase the mass flow upstream for a bit. The compressor was maxed out on speed, so yes should of slowed the revs down significantly. As we weren't watching the...
Folks,
Am I correct in thinking that a significant drop in gas temperature upstream of a Compressor will result in gas being denser? Resulting in increased mass flowrate throughput. With the recycle flow around the Compressor being set in manual. The Compressor discharge tripped on high...
Hi,
Any thoughts on why a closed in subsea well would see a rise in annulus pressure. The Well has been closed in for 10 days and a small rise is evident each day. Other than temperature I can't think why this would be the case.
Thanks for the replies. All good points. We have decided to back flush the plate exchangers. Not hopeful it will work though. The hypo system has been defunct for over a year with the anode antifouling no help.
Kind of limping along until the next shut down in June. Bringing on a cold subsea...
We have a very poor recycle line for cooling. The seawater/ Cooling Med(MEG) exchanger has a blockage with poor flow through the exchanger. Ultimately it will need either a flush or intervention.
We have a Booster compressor u/s of Export compressor which boosters the manifold from 10bar to 30bar.
Should add the cooler is Meg/water exchanger. Cannot achieve any improvements on the cooling medium side as the seawater/CM coolers are starting to block up.
Yes Sorry,
Centrifugal compressor - final stage compression from 30bar to 120bar. The Cooler downstream is a plate exchanger sitting at 62 deg C. I want to reduce this to 55 deg c as the trip is 70 deg c.
I thought if the recycle valve is opened more and compressor speeded up might help.
Hi Folks,
First post be gentle!
Trying to reduce Export Gas Cooler Temp down. Would speeding up compressor, but opening up recycle help acheive this? I have to maintain u/s manifold pressure the same.
Cheers
Andy
