pumping water at around 28 degrees Celsius... i was trying to find this out for a friend... and i sent him two videos from youtube on how to prime.. which recommended installing a standpipe in the suction line and filling it with water until water starts to drip out of another opening on the...
Hi thanks guys.. I posted that to show what it looks like.. From internet.. The actual pump I have looks like this.. https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=4aea8477-bffe-4942-9726-debfeeb3c67e&file=Screenshot_20210727_045237.jpg
Hi.. It's a centrifugal pump.. Sorry for wasting your time.. Looks like the attached pic.. But plates are missing so dont know the details.. I thought I could measure how much suction pressure it Could generate by using a pressure gauge.. Anyway.. I don't want to waste anyone's time so don't...
@JJpellin .. dont know the manufacturer, its an old pump, we wanted to check if we could use it but didnt work.. may be it needs priming..
@TugboatEng .. could i bug you for more details.. can i connect a pressure gauge near the pump suction and run it and read off it to check the suction...
Hi, if i have an old pump with no datasheet, and i dont know its suction pressure, how can i find it. I want to check how much maximum suction pressure it can provide or how much below the pump suction level, my tank can be. Thanks a lot.
Thanks everyone.. The levels are given in negative and also showing dimensions from top of sea level.. So I guess the sea level is considered zero datum.. I ve never heard the term local duo vertical datum before.. So thought maybe its cuz I m not a marine engineer so reached out for...
Hi, I came across this term (ldvd) in an undersea aquarium report in which the level in sea were being described in terms of ldvd. Would appreciate a lot if someone could shed some light on this, I think it just means level of the points considering the sea level as 0 but I am not sure.. Thanks
@littleinch thankyou.. Actually I don't need the nozzles to discharge 10 psi.. Was making an excelsheet for Darcy wisebach method pressure drop calc. And got curious if for example there are 10 nozzles and each needs 10 psi so do we need to multiply the pressures.. Thanks for clarifying...
